From 26/01/2021 to 27/01/2021, Chinese and US forces conducted working meetings to discuss search for US prisoners of war and missing people and their bodily remains. The two sides conducted deep discussion, demonstrating China's humanitarian commitment towards the US.

What in the world? Did PLA sink an US SSN?

The sad truth is that war is like what mike tyson said: everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth. It's far more likely that once missiles start flying, Geneva conventions become Geneva suggestions.

Look at the recent Armenia-Azeri conflict and how few POWs there were on either side; reports of executing POWs and drone attacks leave very few survivors.

Old timers here will remember back in 1999 when the Russian sub Kursk was lost with all hands on board and the entire western MSM indulged in an onanistic orgy of schadenfreude and fantasising about another russian civil war.

Actually, there are a lot of sailors who died during WW2 and couldn't be recovered to this day due to technological limits and lack of help. In addition, people who drowned due to freak accidents and went missing also can't be recovered if they sunk to the bottom of the ocean without assistance. So, these "working meetings" could be addressing that. I highly doubt that a PLAN submarine sunk a US SSN since that is basically a declaration of war and kind of doubt that a USN warship or submarine sunk.

I suspect covid19 affect us military greatly on all branches

That is possible as well since subs have to resurface for supplies and refueling, and the US military is very tight-lipped about the spread of Covid 19 within its ranks. Plus, there has been a string of accidents involving personal and mechanical failures, so there may have been an accident among the ssn's. However, no accident like that has been reported or declassified as of now.

I also noticed Nicholas Kristof talking about attacking Xi Jinping. In the last 4 days, media organizations have written opinion pieces on attacking Xi Jinping as the new China strategy. The idea is that Xi is the 'weak link' in China, a personality cult/dictatorship, and once you remove Xi, China will collapse. CIA apparently giving new directives to all media organizations. I believe it was WaPo and other media organizations that also mentioned attacking Xi Jinping. Really CIA has just issued a fresh batch of directives to media organizations.
