Borrowed from #4697, the shadow of the bow looks like that the bow's upper side is flat while lower side curves up, not often seen in military ship.
What could that mean? That it hasnt a bow sonar?

but just shorter by several meters...lol
Not necessarly. This measurements are all estimatives. Even with a precise photo like that, we still got 3 different measurements just in last page, all of them bigger than kitty hawk´s waterline length. So thats still up in the air.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Chinese EMALS.

Rumors said that the PLAN higher officer decided changing the steam catapults to EMALS just after the construction of 003 had started in 2017, and it took the designing team one year to change the design.

I guess it's a considerable change to make, and this change is beneficial to the space usage - space that would occupied by the steam piping could be used for other things, such as hanger.

Did all of those estimates actually measure waterline, or did they include the bulbous bow?

Because they are all above Kitty Hawks 300m waterline length, so I'm not sure why @Josh Luo is saying it's shorter by several meters unless they all made the same mistake!

They include the clipper bow. Waterline length is shorter than all the numbers postet in this thread.

Ship length and displacement is not all. Count the number of elevators and catapults, than you have an idea of the air wing. Measure the width between the fool lines of the landing strip, than you know the span of the largest airplane used on the carrier.

I maintain that the best go at trying to estimate the ship's length was posted a few months ago, here:

It has to be from someone much higher, likely from XJP himself
