I was watching Fareed Zakaria's GPS 360 this morning and he had on Biden's pick for National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan. The thing about Indians is they want to come across as neutral but it's really they don't want to be caught picking the wrong side. Fareed Zakaria is no different but this time the shifting winds were blowing against the US. Zakaria pointed out that the Democrats during the election had called Trump's tariffs on China a failure yet why is Biden going to continue them? Sullivan said that the difference is Trump did it unilaterally where Biden will get allies on board. Jake Sullivan apparently tweeted to the EU not to sign on the investment deal with China until the Biden Adminstration can consult with them. Zakaria pointed out that tweet seems to have accelerated the EU into signing it. He also pointed to Asian countries signing RCEP so how is Biden going to gang up allies when they've already drawn their own conclusions in regards to China and their futures.
So, what's sullivan response?
As I have said Sullivan tweet did nothing good but embarrassing himself and Biden admin.

Hi mace,

I stop listening to Fareed Zakaria, I don't know why people patronize him. His view and opinion is mostly plagiarized, he is a political butterfly so typical of Indian descent. A product of political correctness and diversity of the Clinton era, were personality prevail rather than their intellectual credentials.

Well I like to know what's in people's minds even if it's something I don't agree with. That's how you know what's out there to counter.

Hi mace,

No disagreement there bro, I'm just expressing my opinion that Zakaria is a fraud.
ansy you should be a professor teaching Hong Kongers about the world. You are so knowledgeable about politics, why work as a tour guide? You can enlighten so many people with your knowledge as a professor

This quote strikes me as delusional and failure to understand the bottom line reality of US-China commerce.

As Grant T. Harris, a political strategist who also writes for the Atlantic Council, says: “To expect US companies to match China’s resources and withstand its tactics without the full support of the US government is a farce.” Washington, Harris argues, “needs a new approach”.

The fact is, US businesses are happily doing business in China. See Starbucks. See Apple, See Boeing. See GM which sells more cars in China than the US. See Tesla. See Ford. See the NBA. See McDonald's. See KFC. And the long list goes on. There are more hedge funds, more companies, that want to invest in the Chinese market because they are getting better returns in China than the US and they want access to the world's biggest consumer market.

It is strategists like Mr. Harris that are the reason why the US has a failed economic, global and China policy.

But how much more can the US help American businesses short of genociding all Chinese like what happened to the Jews?

Pretty much every US multinational had backing of the US government and military

If they had more up their sleeves they would've done it

Hi Crang,

Thanks for your kind words, since I own my business , usually I accompanied my customer to soothe out any potential problem that may arise, especially if it's a big group or with friends and loyal customer. Like I discuss with you before we always plan a year ahead based on their schedule. I had book and plan a NZ (80 pax in all and will be my 3rd) visit last MAY and I'm looking forward to it and may have the chance to meet B.I.B, but this pandemic ruin all that.

Regarding politics I loved to read and hear both side of the argument. I'm humbled by you remarks, but to tell you the truth, I learned a lot more from you and all the poster here in SDF.
