The longer the ship gets, the worse it can maneuver. There is an optimal length. And that depends on the required runway length and the required catapult length. I think any value between 300 and 350 meters is a good value.

Instead of building bigger and bigger and ending up with dimensions like the large container ships of 400 * 60 meters, one prefers to plan more ships in order to have spatially separated alternative runways in a task force.

Think about this, that isn't posible with 400 * 60 meters:

There's a possibility it could be within spitting distance. Whether it's longer or shorter, doesn't really matter at this stage, if one is literally counting individual meters.

What about width / the beam. Any guesstimates on that.

I hope these images will dispel the notion that 003 is Kitty Hawk sized instead of being in a league with the Nimitz and Ford classes

They don't. It is entirely plausible for the 003 to be longer than the Nimitz and have a full displacement under 90,000t. Such a hull would be finer, i.e. have a lower block coefficient. BC and L/W ratio are important factors in determining the propulsive power needed for a ship to attain its top speed. The higher the L/W ratio and lower the BC, in general, the higher the top speed for a given amount of propulsive power.

Someone in this thread mentioned a Chinese research paper on an optimized Kitty Hawk hull with a waterline length of 318m. According to @li450274625 that's exactly what we see here.
