I think the Australian broadcaster Murray Olds is quite condemning of Andrews's performance. using untrained security personnel who made a mess of things instead of the police to guard/monitor the hotels used for isolation of incomingmigrants/immigrants.
Those broadcasters are worthless and have helped making the problem worse they it already is. Hence why the Victorian people still appreciate what he has done despite the missteps while they condemn the Morrison and the media for being the bastards that they are

Yes you're right. Asian make up the biggest ethnic group follow by whites. But the point I was making is that the non-indigenous groups out numbered the indigenous group. So any vote for independence is meaningless.

True the indigenous people were on a hiding to nothing. The white settler was probably a US citizen anyway and statehood would bring in more funding to the state while the Asian voter would have seen it as the easier way to get into the U.S. proper

Let's not forget the history. Hawaii was taken from the kingdom of Hawaii by US. Ever since then, white and Asian settlers have arrived till this day, they are by far the majority.

And because they are all US citizens, and US being the No. 1 country economically and militarily. There's no way these immigrants or descendents of immigrants going to vote for independence. It's illogical to assume that.

The most lasting legacy of Trump's administration will be that he singledhandedly upended, be it for better or worst, the stable ties that existed between China and US since Nixon. Not only did he unmasked America' true intention for reaching out to China under Nixon; which is to push for regime change "peacefully", but also revealed America is actually rather open to the option of force(yes against a nation the size of China) when the first path fails. From Chinese perspective, it also unmasked that the US side has never sincerely respect the legitimacy of the Chinese state or their sovereign rights. For the US, the UN Charter is merely a peace of scrap. Trump highly irresponsible in the sense that he never actually gives a thought to the possible consequences, to the US or rest of the world, if armed conflicts arised as a result of his actions. To him, the burden is for the future generation to bear, all he want is a legacy that "hopefully" see him being on the right side of history(maintaining US hegemony at all cost).

1. Nixon wanted to turn China into an counterweight to the Soviet Union
2. Nobody expected the CCP to last for long after 1989
3. Nobody expected China's economy to continue growing rapidly
4. Nobody thought China could innovate
5. Now China is eating into America's pie, while America is tearing itself apart

Agree with everything except this part.

I will believe it when i see they are formally ready to put their azz on line against North korea. It is the same country who makes big threat ,couldn't strike Russia even after USSR collapsed because of fear of getting their back wiped off.
