Yuan was a legitimate Chinese dynasty, period. Even Ming's founding emperor, after kicking the Yuan out of Beijing, put Kublai's name in the shrine for China's greatest emperors. I fully stand behind the Chinese government's refusal to provide material for promulgating the Western narrative. If people in the West are so wrapped up in their story about other people that native perspectives become 'not understandable' to them, it's their loss.

BTW, in China today it's the Han supremacists who insist on denying Yuan's Chineseness. In fact, the Han supremacists' take on Chinese history bears striking similarity to the Western narrative, which isn't surprising considering the West was the birthplace of Nazism.

Do you have additional information about that incident?

By the edict of Emperor Taizu, the temple to past Chinese emperors (历代帝王庙) enshrined 16 emperors:
1-8: Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors
9: Founder of Xia
10: Founder of Shang
11: Founder of Zhou
12: Gaozu of Han
13: Guangwu of (Eastern) Han
14: Taizong of Tang
15: Taizu of Song
16: Shizu of Yuan (Kublai)

BTW, Ming Taizu didn't think Qin Shihuang deserved a place at the shrine.

No, I meant the incident in that article where Beijing supposedly didn't want the organizers to use the words "Genghis Khan". By your post, it sounded like you had additional insight into the matter, so I was curious.

Guys I don't even know why we give this minor storm in a tea cup such oxgene.

Notice our friend found this objectionable. So much so that he decided to share with the rest of us of his disgust that how dare the Chinese pressure foreign institutions on names and what have you. Yet.....

It's ok for his mentor country to prseeure Germany in the removal of comfort woman statute. But not a peep from him about that. The hypocrisy is strong in this one.

It is a fairly solid story based on non truth. They should investigate it some more to get to the bottom of it.

Just like that other time when Genghis helped Saddam with the WMD. It was tragic how many Mongol-Americans died because of that.

Perhaps our American Chinese can help me out here. Is this representative of the Chinese in America today? If it is I found it quite astonishing that Chinese Americans could find it in them to support a man, in racist himself, is supported by racist .

Headline from the article:

Trump and his surging Asian American vote

Trump's tough stance on the Chinese Communist Party is winning him support among a swathe of Asian American communities.

When a blind Chinese activist named Chen Guangcheng spoke at the Republican National Convention praising Trump for standing up to the Beijing regime in August, many Democrats called him ungrateful, as the Chinese lawyer and pro-life activist who exposed the evils of the one-child policy implemented in his hometown of Linyi was rescued from China and found refuge in America during the Obama administration.

I've never even heard of an Asian person who supports Trump and all my friends are Asian. Of course I "support" him cus he's messing up America but I don't think that's what they're talking about here...

Caveat: Basically all my friends are MD, PhD, or at least Masters so higher education is my sample bias. If all the Asians who have trouble keeping the lights on or are on welfare like Trump, I wouldn't know.
