Developing story over past couple of days, according some Indian sources. Not sure if verified, but rumors from senior politicians and the army officer in story above.

Here are the claim lines as depicted in Indian media during the 2013 Depsang standoff

If true, this would be a daring grab by the PLA of the contended grey zone areas of the LAC next to Depsang plains. There are murmurs amongst some netizens that if true, this cannot be allowed to stand.

An independent Tibet is all but impossible. Even if the CCP collapses, Tibet will certainly remain part of China under a new government. Hopefully, India realizes this and does not do anything stupid such as encouraging Tibetan separatism.

independent Tibet is not possible because of 1 simple reason:

China will use Nukes to defend Tibet until the end. It will never give it up.

India missed the bus of leveraging cheap labor manufacturing to riches for two reasons:

1). Automation is coming. And this will nullify India’s large, uneducated labor pool. China or Vietnam is prob the last two countries that leveraged cheap labor to get rich.

2). Global warming. India’s geography means global warming will devastate large parts of India. Heat waves combined with humidity will make certain parts of india unlivable in 30 years or less. Water scarcity is already a big problem.

Given these two conditions, India’s large population is actually a massive burden.

India lives in the past and would like to tell itself great many tales of great deeds. Its like the Greeks or Turkish or Persians.

There's a difference: Unlike Islamic/Chinese/Western histories, the 'tales' the RSS/BJP teaches are fabricated, designed to create a 'history' which never existed:

"According to the minutes of the history committee’s first meeting, Dikshit, the chairman, said it was “essential to establish a correlation” between ancient Hindu scriptures and evidence that Indian civilization stretches back many thousands of years. Doing so would help bolster both conclusions the committee wants to reach: that events described in Hindu texts are real, and today’s Hindus are descendants of those times."

p.s. It is true that we Muslims spend a lot of time daydreaming about past glories. However, that is to remind us who we are, so that we can figure out a unique solution which fits our requirements. Remember that the West also spent a long time in its own dark age, before its Renaissance. This path takes longer, but when it finally works, it's worth it.

Lo, these are typical western media exaggerating things than what they are.
"The Powerful Group Shaping The Rise Of Hindu Nationalism In India" --- what powerful group?
Its bunch of goons with some elite rich at helm. Of course they are "leading" India ,a "country" where everything is made out of fantasy so they are going to look "powerful" there.
Outside it,it's bunch of weirdos trying to say weird things no one gives a crap about. We are surrounded from 3 sides by them, living with them as long as we can remember. We have better idea than anyone else.
All daydream about their past glory. Christians,Muslims, even Buddhist( i am born Buddhist agnostic). But unlike those weirdos each of these groups did something great in past which they daydream about to re-do again. What those weirdos have are some orange clothing & fanboy stories which contradict itself in every 2 lines.
Over estimating something is as dangerous as under estimating.
