The Black Lives Matter supporters who descended on the US embassy in Seoul over the past two weeks found another demonstration already taking place: scores of hardy activists who for months have protested over Donald Trump’s demand that South Korea quintuple the amount it pays for hosting American troops. “They are here just to sell their weapons to us,” says one of the protesters. Banners held aloft by one group read: “US imperialism means ‘I can’t breathe’”, in a reference to the protests that have rocked the US.

“America used to be about the liberal international order. That is why we need to counter China — to protect our values and this order,” says Mr Funabashi. “But we no longer see the US rally allies around these values — we fear that they are using countries as pawns, as bargaining chips. This kind of insecurity is very new and very disconcerting.”

Lol they thought they we're more than pawns before.

Remember what LKY said: All of Asia cannot stop China. They need the US.

International Criminal Justice: Statement by the High Representative following the US decision on possible sanctions related to the International Criminal Court

On 11 June President Donald Trump signed an executive order authorising the possible imposition of economic sanctions and visa restrictions on certain persons associated with the International Criminal Court (ICC), including agents of States Parties that cooperate with the Court.

The European Union expresses grave concern about the announced measures and reconfirms its unwavering support for the International Criminal Court.

Sanctions against those involved in the work of the ICC, its staff and their families as well as persons associated with the ICC are unacceptable and unprecedented in scope and content.

In leading the fight against impunity, the ICC must be able to work independently and impartially. The European Union remains committed to defending the Court from any outside interference aimed at obstructing the course of justice and undermining the international system of criminal justice. We urge the US to reverse its position.

At a time when the rules-based international order is facing increased pressure, the strengthening of the international criminal justice system is more important than ever. The European Union will continue to advocate for the universality of the Rome Statute and invite all States that have not yet done so to consider joining the ICC to end impunity for the most serious crimes.

“Trump immediately assumed Xi meant the Democrats. Trump said approvingly that there was great hostility among the Democrats," Mr Bolton writes.

“He then, stunningly, turned the conversation to the coming US presidential election, alluding to China’s economic capability to affect the ongoing campaigns, pleading with Xi to ensure he’d win,” Mr Bolton writes.

"He stressed the importance of farmers, and increased Chinese purchases of soybeans and wheat in the electoral outcome. I would print Trump’s exact words but the government’s prepublication review process has decided otherwise,” the former national security adviser adds.

Trump told China's president that building concentration camps for millions of Uighur Muslims was 'exactly the right thing to do,' former adviser says

President Donald Trump approved of a concentration camp for Uighur Muslims in China during a private meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, according to former national security adviser John Bolton's upcoming memoir, "In The Room Where It Happened."

In a private meeting during the 2019 G-20 meeting in Japan, Trump and Xi were only accompanied by their interpreters, according to Bolton's book, parts of which were published in

Xi "explained to Trump why he was basically building concentration camps in Xinjiang," Bolton claimed, based on the interpreter's account. The interpreter reportedly added that "Trump said that Xi should go ahead with building the camps, which Trump thought was exactly the right thing to do."

Bolton also recalled in the book that Matthew Pottinger, a retired US Marine and a current deputy national security adviser, "told me that Trump said something very similar during his November 2017 trip to China."

BREAKING: Australia: major cyber attack under way, Scott Morrison says

"I’m here today to advise you that, based on advice provided to me by our cyber experts, Australian organisations are currently being targeted by a sophisticated state-based cyber actor. This activity is targeting Australian organisations across a range of sectors, including all levels of government, industry, political organisations, education, health, essential service providers and operators of other critical infrastructure.

We know it is a sophisticated state-based cyber actor because of the scale and nature of the targeting and the tradecraft used.

The threshold for public attribution on a technical level is extremely high. Australia doesn’t engage lightly in public attributions and when and if we choose to do so is always done in the context of what we believe to be in our strategic national interests.

What I can confirm is there are not a large number of state-based actors that can engage in this type of activity and it is clear, based on the advice that we have received, that this has been done by a state-based actor, with very significant capabilities."

You beat me to it. I was gonna say, that's F-22, F-35, F-15, F-18 all in 1 month (didn't even know about the C-130). If they lose an F-16 next, that's be the whole fighter family.
