Hong-Kong Protests

Jack Ma just joined Twitter supposedly 3 days ago to announce the first shipment of 1 million masks and 500,000 test kits left Shanghai for the US and it's exploding. Jack Ma is apparently shipping masks and test kits all over the world. People from around the world are thanking him for his donations to their regions of the world. Guess who doesn't like it? Aside from your typical racists, I saw not one post that had a Hong Kong Flag aside their name like it. Even during this time they don't give their hatred for anything Chinese a break. Hong Kongers are every ugly stereotype the West has for Chinese. The Chinese fire drill stereotype apparently was started by the British while observing Hong Kongers practicing some drill and it was chaos. Sounds just like why you don't see one leader in the Hong Kong democracy movement.
Jack Ma doing right? The hostility from the West will not change no matter how hard China tries.

Unbelievable stuff.
Just saw that horrible reddit HK forum.
Place is toxic
Should ship all these people to their beloved daddy USA-land and see how they are treated with a president who calls them a virus.

Don't waste your time even reading what they said. It has become a cult. Just hoping some of them would wake up someday but I have my doubt.

If you are of chinese diaspora, stay away from reddit all together. r/hongkong r/china r/worldnews you name it is full of china bashers. People don’t even pretend to care and straight out start bashing you. Although r/sino is all pro china and feel like propaganda subreddit but still they post some fell good thread and have recents news, events and social life of china. But my suggestion is stay away from reddit.

I only went once before. It was so stupid, like basically post after post of "POLICE ARE KILLING US", of course reality is zero deaths. I never thought about looking again, except the other day to see if the activity level was lower due to the coronavirus, of course it is not. I assume it is all kids or western Europeans, because they chalk up the virus to "disgusting Chinese habits" like live animal markets. I remember as a kid seeing live chickens at the market and thinking "what kind of disgusting HK habit is this?" since I did not grow up there.

Put it down to lessons learned.

With regards to live chickens, it is not unique to Hong Kong, it is Chinese and some south east Asia comunities. It is the preference for fresh food. Also historically, refrigeration is relatively new. Our household didn't get our first fridge till the 1970s. And that's only because our "rich" uncle visited from his "rich" USA home, and saw we didn't have a fridge, and bought us one.

Also, Old habits die hard.
