you will be disappointed, I don't think they will have aney against exercises like that - which defeat which. the final will be every body happy, just like 2005 China - Russia exercises.

Too bad if they don`t. I personally think the j-10 beating the J-11 is propaganda and it would be fun seeing them against another country`s fighters who won`t "lay down" so easily.

I do not think any country would make a propaganda for something that is not true simply because it's bad for reputation if proven otherwise. It's not like during war times.

it`s actually the norm to do so. You would not say that your equipment is inferior. That would be bad for morale and sales.

That's what you think. If you actually look at the avionics and missiles used by J-10 and su-30mkk in those exercises, it shouldn't be a surprise at all that J-10 whipped mkk. Once J-11B comes online using the same level of avionics and missiles, it can probably whip su-30mkk too.

I`m not saying that my point of view is correct, but I am generally critical to the stats provided by military manufacturers. And if you believe that the capabilities of the J-10 is exagerated, well then its logical to believe that the stats of the sub systems aren`t spot on as well. It`s just my feeling that after all these years of producing sub par military equipment, it seems a bit strange that it all the sudden it is supposed to be brilliant. And many rate the J10 lower than this forum (early f16). The burden of proof is on the chinese and official statements just doesn`t convince me, since they have so much invested in the project. Again, just my personal meaning, I respect yours as well.

stats are exaggerated all the time

however, what you hear here is confirmed report of DACT results. You don't fake these.

The question you should be asking is not whether the Flankers were "laying low", but under what conditions were the DACTs executed under.

Just another question regarding a report some time ago posted at CDF about future basing planes for the J-10:

Big leak. Within 3 years, J-10 IOC units will be!!!!!

2007 PLAAF 1st division in Chei-Feng(Sheng-yang MR, 2nd or 3rd regiment?)
2008 PLAAF 19th division in Zheng-Zhou(Ji-nan MR, 56th or 57th regiment?)
2009 PLAAF 6th division in Lin-Tao(Lan-Zhou MR, 16th, 18th, 19th regiment?)

... finally this would be the list of all current operating regiments:

test units:
3rd Test Flight Regiment at Wenjiang a/p Chengdu Aircraft Corp. (CAC)
13th Operational Trials Regiment FTTC at Cangzhou-Cangxian

operational units:
44th Fighter Division / 130th Air Regiment at Mengzi
44th Fighter Division / 131st Air Regiment at Kunming, now relocated to Luliang (?)
44th Fighter Division / 132nd Air Regiment at Mengzi

3rd Fighter Division / 5th Air Regiment (?) at Changxing

under conversion or reported to be operational:
1st Fighter Division / 2nd or 3rd Air Regiment at Chifeng
2nd Fighter Division / 4th or 5th Air Regiment (?) at Suixi or Liuzhou

... but what regiments are based at Gulin (maybe 2nd ??) ... any help and or corrections !!

Thanks in advance, Deino :D

Well, my point is the same. The result is what the chinese wanted and they can easily plan the exercise so that they get the result they want. You cant really get credible information that way.
