Forget about trashing the US on gun violence. Too easy. Way too easy. Like picking on the quadriplegic. Using the US as the negative example for gun violence comparison is like saying you're not so bad at sports because there are human vegetables in a coma in the hospital.

China has greater restraint than any Western country including all the liberal European places whose police don't even regularly carry guns. Even there, if someone were throwing molotovs trying to light the police on fire, the cops would break open the gun vault and blast him straight to hell.

So forget about the US, where if the cops see a young black teen walking with his hands in his pockets, they'll sick 16 gangster officers on him with knees on his neck and face, taser him, then shoot him for twitching from the taser. The US qualifies for the special Olympics when it comes to police restraint; it sullies China's name to even make that comparison. There's not enough bandwidth on this site to list all the instances of police-committed murder in the US against persons aged 18 or younger.

If evangelical schools have been brainwashing the students against mainland China, where's the authorities of a police state to clamp down and arrest these teachers? Brainwashing doesn't happen overnight. Look at how much freedom they have to brainwash children.

It is easy. The HK education department has the authority to confiscate the teaching licenses of these teachers and defund these schools. The problem is the HK government has no gut to do it even under the pressure from the Pro-Beijing supporters and Former Chief Executive of Hong Kong Leung Chun-ying.

found that skirmish in youtube now:
(saw EDIT similar footage earlier in Twitter:

Judging by the full video, there a gang of "protesters" threw one of policemens to the ground and trying beat him to death. The use of weapons was not justified, but even necessary.

This video shows what actually happened before the shooting start.

Before watching this, I have already seen the part of the policeman shooting the rioter with seemingly not much of coercion on one of these usual western media. Obviously telling the whole picture of what actually happened wasn't in their interest so they decided to censor the part of the scene that will in any way justify the police action.

It does serve a purpose. A few weeks ago the protestors had to resort to making up fake people being killed by police. Why, because the world is losing interest and the US where they want to get the most attention from ain't in a position to criticize what's happening in Hong Kong when American police kill people for no reason. Making up fake deaths is a sign the protestors are frustrated at the West's muted response of just words and no action. Pointing out their hypocrisies keeps them muted.

the NYT described events immediately preceding the shooting as:

"In the video, the protester who was shot is first seen joining a black-clad mob of people who chase a riot officer and tackle him to the ground. They kick him and beat him with what appear to be metal pipes.

At one point, the protester approaches a second police officer who is standing nearby with a handgun drawn."

(the story goes on as "Just after the protester hits the officer with the pipe, the officer fires at the man at point-blank range.")
