During the rehearsals for the 1st October parade three UAVs were spotted again ...

The first one is clearly a GJ-2 Wing Loong II, the second one looks like the Sharp Sword UCAV and the third one is new to me (eventually "a ground-effect drone or a target drone" (via Henri K)

I’m almost willing to bet money that this is LJ-1.

So remove the bomb bays and stuff it full of EW gear?

Seems like a good idea to make the 001 series carriers useful for more than scaring hypothetical third world countries.
Not quite what he was pointing to is the problem with the DF21D, IE how do you target a carrier? A target on land is fixed generally, a target in the sea is fluid. A ship is able to move it remains in motion during operations. A carrier’s function is a moving air field. Ground based radars are neat but they have a limitation by the curvature of the earth this means that even if it has a 1000km range of detection at its maximum range it’s looking at satellites not the seas.
Space based observations are limited and it takes a lot of effort and because it is space based needs a extreme amount of time to hunt targets but a drone that can be deployed off the deck of a carrier or an island that can cover a vast range, has VLO features and a long range datalink that can provide live targeting telemetry. That would make a ASBM fires from a ground base or off a H6K means it could strike a carrier from well beyond line of sight.

Yes the targeting drone/wingman. They have almost identical silhouette, and I can’t really think of anything else that fits that profile. And from what I can tell on the website of the company, it doesn’t seem like some chump churning out vapor ware. We will see in a couple of days though.

On September 23rd, AVIC's AV500BW unmanned helicopter – carrying two TL-2 laser-guided missiles – successfully completed testing firings. Against wind speeds up to 10 meters per second, both missiles hit their targets, at distances of 1.8km and 4km respectively. Previously, AV500BW had completed successful test firings using the FT-8D missile.

Making the lives of MBTs harder one step at a time. Wonder how much such a drone costs to be flown with 4 or 8 anti-tank missiles. Certainly outranges any existing tank's ability to hit it with a laser or projectile. I doubt even a T-14 has enough active kill grenades to defend itself against several of these.

The missile FT-8D is not designed against MBT but light armored vehicle, maybe a very light armored personnel transport but not a heavily armored IFV, let alone MBT. The designed mission is "counter-insurgency".
