weird that those two Z-18s/8s seem to have elements of older Z-8s (boat like hull, front air intakes) with newer ones as well (radar, cockpit glass configuration)... considering that Z-18J and Z-18F are also both types operated over water and from ships yet these two Z-8s have some older design features

After looking up some other posts elsewhere, they mentioned that scene was in fact their Naval Aeronautical University formally received trainer helicopters, including two Z-8CJ dedicated trainer.

According to what I can find about that news, Z-8CJ paired with newer avionics that are found on the newer variants, including the Z-18, thus cadets can transfer more smoothly from flight training to units, unlike previously training on Z-8 that were a few generations older, make training experience unable to pair with actual newer units now on hand at operational units.

What sources are there that it's a wide body variant? How likely is it that it's "simply" a long range variant, with larger fuel tanks? Either way, it should be a heavier variant, which would require an engine with more power...

It was previously suggested that a wide body was under development

Plus its army so some vehicles specs must ask for change

This seems to be it
