Opposition to Breast-Feeding Resolution by U.S. Stuns World Health Officials

In case it isn't already obvious the Trump administration caters to big money and corporate special interests at the expense of the public good and those less fortunate/wealthy/powerful.

What's so difficult to understand? If the adults are inadmissible, send them back with their kids. If they are admissible, keep them with their kids.

Funny how other countries in the world are able to secure their borders without needing such measures.

Can you substantiate your last statement?

FYI you are proposing keeping children in the company of criminals just because they show up together trying to illegally cross the US border.

Since they're bringing kids out of the cave now, I wonder how many of those kids would've died waiting for Musk and his submarine plan. The most simplest solution is usually the best one.

And yet Musk gets all the "ingenious" credibility by the main stream media.

As I had suspected all along, It was a PR stunt when I saw the "submarine". Just needed to hear it from the experts.

One of the British divers who helped rescue the Thai soccer team just confirmed what many suspected about Elon Musk's somewhat bizarre attempt at helping: It was never going to work.

In an interview with CNN, British diver Vern Unsworth called Musk's submarine "just a PR stunt" that "had absolutely no chance of working."

Unsworth, who according

played a "pivotal" role in the rescue, appeared exasperated when asked about Musk.

"He can stick his submarine where it hurts," he said. "It just had absolutely no chance of working. He had no conception of what the cave passage was like. "

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO caused a stir on social media last week, when he essentially

his plans to aid with the massive rescue effort. That plan culminated with a kid-sized submarine, which Musk himself delivered to officials in Thailand.

when media outlets began reporting one rescue official's remarks, who described the submarine as "not practical." He unleashed one of his famed Twitter rants, saying, "based on extensive cave video review & discussion with several divers who know journey, SpaceX engineering is absolutely certain that mini-sub can do entire journey & demonstrate at any time."

Unsworth, a local cave expert who was one of the first on the scene, shot that notion down. He said the Musk-designed metal tube was far too big and inflexible to make it around the narrow passages of the cave. "It wouldn't have made the first 50 meters into the cave," he said.

When the interviewer pointed out that Musk did actually make it into the cave at one point, Unsworth simply shrugged and replied that the Tesla CEO "was asked to leave very quickly."

Ouch.

Ouch.

It's a big no-no when the equipment and method has never been tested and proven thoroughly. You simply don't test and use an unproven methodology/equipment during a rescue mission like you would do in a fairy tale story.

I find your deliberate mischaracterization of the situation very disturbing. Asylum seeking is not a crime.

The feeling's mutual. I find your mischaracterization of adult criminals, not just from seeking asylum, accompanying minors as a situation to be facilitated very disturbing. That's aside from condoning abuse of the asylum system.

First, how are they criminals? Second, read the UN convention on refugees, of which the US is a signatory, then tell me what is being abused here.

Finally, how is keeping families together facilitating anything, except perhaps human decency?

I find it very disturbing that you support taking children away from their parents because of your dislike of what the parents do.

Again, this is not a immigration issue. There is a process for refugees, and this process does not include ripping children away from their parents!

I wonder why these specific provinces were chosen.

Nothing special.

It is the history of Gaokao test papers. Test set II is what the red provinces used in 2018. There are set I and III used by other provinces. All these sets are made by the Education Ministry. Some provinces or provincial level cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Jiangsu do not use any of the three sets. They make their own.

It is essentially based on the education level of the places. Highly developed regions make their own. Other less developed places get the help from the Education Ministry. As can be seen in the link, some of the provinces only use part of the set and make their own on certain subject (IMO, in area where they are competent).

It is a practice since the beginning. Back in my time, school curriculum was not universal in the country, probably still not today.
