Re: Type 071 LPD

I would just add a comment:

How come an Indian has so much info on this Chinese project. Anyway since this project has been shown on the net most people's comment were inaccurate.

I just hope that here the discussion doesnt go out of control !!!

Re: Type 071 LPD

I must agree with you this report is surely false. Anyway since this is an Indian report we must wait and see perhaps they have problems in translating?????

Perhaps they might be talking of a new and more advance Type 052 C Destroyer that is yet to be built.!!!!

posted by ying in the other thread.

I posted under this section because 071 LPD is much more visible in this picture. 054A looks far behind the one in HP.

by comparing this pic and the pix at post Nr. 20 - see page 2 - I now doubt again about two different locations .....
to me it seems we have the same big white building and the same big blue crane at these pix

Re: Type 071 LPD

The masts with scaffolding are the Type-054, in front of the Type-071.

Here's my artist's impression of the layout based on the most recent photos which show the superstructure developing. I would assume that the funnels will be in the center, and the bridge on top of the current superstructure.

Re: Type 071 LPD

This construction is really making me more stressed. How to know what it really is and how will it look in the end. I'm not the patient kind of guy. Even those cgi dnt help. I would ask a question based on the pic of planeman why doesn't china build a Helicopter carrier?

ying1978 Thanks for posting that picture. Now without a doubt that is an LPD type ship.:)

Go China!:china:

Now if I'm not mistaken isn't there another one under construction some where? The pic is in this thread....By the looks of the ship pictured above it should be in service in about 18 months or so....

there was something interesting mentionned on Chinese forum. They were saying how they got some World war 2 American landing ship and they are still in great condition after years of usage. But on some of the Chinese built landing ships, they put some tanks on them, and the ship is already having problems with quality. It's nice to see new and larger ships coming out with different types of missiles and radar, but the workmanship and engine reliability can't be underestimated.
