Indeed ... thanks again.

Otherwise I completely agree with you, that's Suixi for the 6th Brigade and since this unit is quite well known I'm always a bit surprised (and annoyed) that they still blur-out the serials.

Also interesting, if you look at the whole set of images it also shows one of the recently introduced Su-30MKK.

To admit, I'm indeed surprised.

The 131. Brigade uses J-10C and transferred its J-10A to the 130. Brigade ... and I thought the 132. Brigade was abolished; however it is still active flying J-7BH and JJ-7.

The 109th Brigade is already known since some time but thanks to some help I just identified the unit patch!

Thanks a lot to Frank Geoge

This unit operates a mix of J-8H and J-8F as well as a few JJ-7A and is based at Changji in the Western Theater Command

This weibo user collects and makes a lot of arm patches, both real and joke ones. Perhaps you'll find some useful pictures from his weibo gallery.

Here's one of his exhibits showing a few interesting arm patches including the 109th Brigade's.

Thanks a lot, my problems however are ... If it is a new, unknown patch how to I differ a real from a faked patch since I cannot read Chinese and since I do not have a Weibo-account, whenever I click on one image to enlarge it I get an info I cannot access. :(

I think you can sign up for weibo using

with the appropriate cell number modifiers. For example, I signed up with an Australian phone number but it had to be modified to 00 61 4XX XXX XXX from my usual 04XX XXX XXX. The modified version means:
  • 00 - China's international access code
  • 61 - Australia's country code
  • 4XX XXX XXX - my cell number without the usual '0' at the front
That's how I can make my mobile number accessible to weibo, which is based in China. I don't know how to modify a German cell number; I looked at the Wikipedia article on German cell numbers and it was very, very confusing. I'll leave it to you to modify your cell to be accessible by China.

There's also another way to access a weibo user's pictures without signing up. Simply right-click on a picture and select "open image in new tab". Then modify the URL of the opened tab to display the largest image. To do this, change the URL parameter immediately after the xxxxx.cn to "large".

E.g.

turns into...

large/005AYxLljw1f9l6b7rsxsj30zk0qoqfn.jpg

That would give you the URL of the largest version of the picture.

Hu ... thanks again and I will try.

In Germany it is the 49 ... so it should be 00 49 1XX XXX XXX from my usual 01xx xxx xxx x !

Thanks a lot.
