It's realistic-looking, but not realistic, since we don't know what the thing will look like. So this is just some fanboy artwork and has no place here, IMO.

To admit we seen in several other threads much more stupid and unrealistic fan-arts (like these nasty Y-20 variants ...) ... this however - at least IMO - is fine. I would like to keep it.

I agree... 'fan-boy' art is no bad thing as long as it is anchored in realism and does not indulge some ridiculous flight of fantasy.
There is one fantansy in this CG though, that is the J-20. Up till now there is no real indication of it being considered for carrier ops, not to mention how impractical it would be due to its size.

The go ahead to start work on 002 was given after the National congress in March according to SCMP

The sources mentioned in this thread give divergent information about 002´s tonnage. Before, one said that it would had 68000t, another said 74000t, and now this SCMP article says 80000t. Different sources have different information?

It could be all the same:
  • 68.000 tons may be is the weight of the ship excluding aircraft, ammunition, fuel, water, ballast, stores, crew, but with water in boilers to steaming level
  • 74.000 tons may be is the ship's displacement "with all outfit, and two-thirds supply of stores, ammunition, etc., on board
  • 80.000 tons may be is the displacement when floating at its greatest allowable draft

How often do we have to repeat this issue: The J-20 is actually shorter and smaller than a FLANKER !!!!!

Guys ... do you ever read and think or prefer to stick to false opinions?
