Chinese woman offered refund after facial recognition allows colleague to unlock iPhone X

A woman in the eastern Chinese city of Nanjing has been offered a second refund after faulty facial recognition software on two iPhone X handsets allowed her colleague to unlock them.
The woman, identified only by her surname Yan, told the Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation that despite activating and configuring each phone’s facial recognition software, her work colleague was able to get into both devices on every attempt.
Yan said the first time it happened, she called the Apple hotline, but the staff would not believe her. Shen then went with her colleague to the nearest Apple store, where her colleague used facial recognition on the phone to demonstrate the issue to staff, according to the report.
The store said the camera might be faulty and gave Yan a refund. But the new iPhone X that she bought also had the same problem, prompting the shop to offer another refund, the report said. No details were given about whether the woman decided to purchase a third iPhone X.

Didn't I have similar conversations with some of you here few months back about facial recognition? I remember distinctly arguing that FR technologies hasn't matured enough at this time for true authentication especially amongst twins etc... well apparently you don't need to be twins... Apple engineers do think all chinese people look alike

There was a news story after the iPhone X was released where the son of a woman with an iPhone X was able to unlock it.

Oh No' I Fly by wire is computer software based is it not.
There was this occasion when i was borrowing books from the library, while the system scanned my library card,it left it in its memory banks and applied my id to the next few borrowers, one of whom never returned the books she/he borrowed.
I got hit for a couple hundred dollars for the books and the librarian would not listen to my explanation.because she said the library management system was the best from Germany and computers don't make mistakes.
Man she was dogmatic and it only took an appeal to higher management to have my explanation accepted.
Boy I was glad she was only a librarian and not my IRS tax assessor.

That's the problem when people without a technical background believe in computers. First day on the job I was told the computer is only as good as the person using it. I do everything old school by hand to verify any new software or version first.

Dolphins get high on Puffer Fish
I have a Puffer Fish but I keep it in Brackish water.They require a certain type of snail in which the shell helps keep their two front teeth ground down, other wise they will die. Shrimps don't seem to work.
