From these latest[pictures of the exterior, I'd say there is a LOT of work yet to be done.

We have seen a lot of pictures recently of the interior, but I believe a lot of that was done before launch.

Still we do not see any sensors complete on the carrier. We do not see any weapons systems, or ECM or other such systems on the carrier yet.

I do not see the arrestor system on the carrier.

I cannot say how much is not in the hanger, but judging from what we see on the exterior, I have to believe that a lot of the automated and material systems are not completed.

Clearly, the basic structure of the carrier is very near complete. She is water tight and her flight deck, ski-ramp, and all the necessary sponsons for the other equipment are all in place and looking great.

But, each of those sponsons...each of those auxiliary decks and their openings are made for equipment...from sensors, to weapons, to ships launches,, to life rafts...etc., etc. and the other things I have mentined that we do not see.

I expect it to tale several months for them to finish all of that work...like it would on any major combatant and especially a carrier.

When she goes to sea on her builders trials the absolute bulk of that work will have been completed...so we should be able to watch it happen as we get pictures of her as she sits at dock and is completed before our eyes.

We saw the same thing on the LIaoning.

... jeff, do you see those flags on the hull's flight deck? I'm pretty sure this footage/photos was taken four months ago just before the ship was launched or even the day the ship was launched...

Those pictures are not the "latest" at all but about four months out of date. New pictures and footage that have been revealed to us yes, but definitely not showing the state of the ship recently.
