I think the two protruding panels may be the same height but the forward one is definitely shorter than the rearward one.
You guys were correct, the forward structure is indeed much shorter, even shorter than the bridge wing. Also the way they protrude outward by so much, seems to be more than simple air intakes.

Comparing these two is interesting. They look completely different for the VLS.

I am sure the lower one, showing the 64 VLS is correct depiction. They al;most look like different VLS installations in these two when you zoom in:

I still want to see the after VLS, and the helo pad and hanger.

We will get those shots in time.

Well, we are sure getting a LOT of naval enthuisiast eye candy the last while.

USS Zumwalt,, USS Ford, PLAN CV-17, HMS Queen Elizabeth, PLAN Type 055.

Things we have talked about and theorized for years...now coming to lfe before our eyes.

Congrats to the PLAN for a truly breathtaking, modern, wold class DDG. They are now in the big league with either a 112 or 1278 cell modern VLS, stealthy, and battle managed design.

...and they are going to quickly establish themselves with numoerous of these vessels.

All of this is truly amazing from a naval perspective.

Lots of new technologies, capabilities, etc. on these vessels.

Again, congratulations to our Chinese brothers in the PLAN.
