Basically ...
it'll be interesting to follow the quest the Manager described:
“The Block 3 is low-observable [LO], but we think there’s a balance between how LO you need to be and other aspects of survivability,” Burt says. “Stealth is part of being survivable. But today’s stealth, the stealth you see in fifth-generation aircraft and in the current F/A-18, is focused on a certain frequency range where a lot of the threats reside. The threat knows that and is moving out of that [frequency range].”

Basically Boeing is trying to keep the line open, and it sounds like they might be worried that they cannot get an FA XX contract.

Can ' t read poor white European guy here hehe :) what you mean ?
Boeing have enough orders for several years now build 2 by month, 24/year.

Recently 12 new Super Hornet for USN + 5 new before in more the 563 of initials lots, remains at less 20 - 30 Growlers, (116 del in 09/2015 on 160 ) - meantime the 12 for RAAF build -
surely a new order for Kuwaitis again for USN very possible at less 30 - 40 sure US Navy Aviation want for 3 VFA : 36 and some for reserve, mentionned in different articles a total of 30 - 40 up to 100 dépends F-35C number and budget...

So how would moving to a fighter with no or limited Frequency range help?
I mean yes, The Russians, Chinese and others are all working on Anti-stealth technology, but they are all also working on Stealth fighters of their own, And even with them working on such finding a Stealth is not easy. Even against anti-stealth Stealth has some effect. IT's far easier to find a non LO at range then a LO. And Stealth can still change and be modified by alterations in Materials and technologies.

understandably Boeing Warns Against Long Stealth Fighter Development

Boeing is "BULL SHITTING!" here gents, big "BULL SHIT"! They don't have an aircraft in high end L/O shaping and the Advance Hornet in NOT AN L/O aircraft, PERIOD!

LOCKMART has the magic, Boeing does NOT! so ignore this little pitiful plea to keep the business open and pulling in profits on "antique aircraft", yes old warbirds are KOOL! NO, we don't need to be buying last centuries airplanes to build numbers of a New Air Force! The F-35 wlll do the do, the Air Force should and needs to reopen Raptor Production with an F-22B as a 5.5 Gen aircraft and throw the 6th gen out to a competition, just like the competition that brought us ATF and JSF!

That's how you achieve air-superiority, that's how you maintain your "combat edge" and that's how free men will remain free men, by fielding the best, by being the best, by not accepting last place as inevitable or desirable.

Boeing needs to "shut up" and get their collective heads out of their butts and field an aircraft that can win the 6th gen competition! period, quit making excuses and trying to "pawn off" last centuries great aircraft!

They're just being lazy and prefer spending free man's tax money on old project instead of competing with Lockheed for anything new, even if the government subsidize part of the research.

Not really Equation. Boeing partnered with Lockheed on the F22, in some ways it was the Lockheed Martin Boeing F22. On the JSF they did try with the X32 some even still like that monstrosity. And they also tried on the B21. Frankly Boeing has just had little luck with stealth programs. The Raptor succeed until Congress closed the line, X32 bombed, X45 and X46 never went past demo, the B21 went to Northrop Grumman. The never got to demonstrator for the B2. The RAH 66 with Sikorsky was terminated.
They just don't have a Ghost Hourse in the stealth race.

Kelly Johnson cornered the market of "black magic MOJO" for L/O sixty years ago,,, in 1947 he himself personally oversaw the recovery of the original "ALIEN BIRD",,,, its in a dark, dark bottle, deep underground at "PALMDALE"!

MC-130E, SR-71, F-22, and now the F-35,,, LockMart, got a LOCK on this market friends! "Evil Laughter",,, anyway you get my point,,,, its all L/O, all the time, we are ready to cloak at any time,,,, "now you see it, NOW YOU DON'T!

"Alien Bird" is also an AFB trade-marked phrase,,,,, as are the multiple punctuation marks for emphasis,,, as is ThunderHoggeII,,, you as my brothers are all welcome to use these AFB tools for you personal astute observations, just send me a "Kennedy Half Dollar" each time you do! AFB

"that is all, Brat OUT!"
