What will happen if new genration of radar cracks or prevail the design and coating of full stealth design aircraft? Which means all the massive time and finance spends on this type of aircraft immediately deem them useless. I mean the new generation of radar is capable of detecting a F-22 raptor as clearly as a F-15 in same range,what will raptor offer of the advantages besides supercruise and TVC? Besides ,full stealth aricraft r usually 3-4 times more ex than a conventional aircraft...It is not feasible to quickly re-engineer the stealth aircraft structure to counter the new generation radar as it will proves too costly. Therefore,shall we concentrate on new radar or concentrate on designing a new concept full stealth aircraft?

thats the motor that keeps military industry among the world largest...it has always worked on that manner and sofar it hasent stop the arm races. Why bother to not to advange when some day someone migth inventet something that makes it obsolete? Things just doesent work that way, or otherwise we would still use clubs and halbers.
The enormous amount of money spent on stealth aircraft is shocking and if the advantage is broken by a cheap solution,wouldn't it looks very impratical?
Develop a new generation of multi-mode radar(IRST,laser radar,nulitmode cross section and satelite imaging) is also another way of technology advancement,right?
Plus with if stealth deem useless by new G of radar,wouldn't we switch to dogfight again and the bulky stealth aircaft will be easily spotted by vision and be disadvantage in close fight!
Kilo. What is the defense industry susposed to do? Stop R & D because someone might event something to counter the new toy you just put into serveice?

If that was the case then we would not have seen any aircraft better than the originla design....remember if you can make it someone will always be there to make it better. You are forgetting U2 did get shot down in USSR but did it stop SR71...this how the world revolves and it will remain the same forever...I believe yes there will be a day when someone will invent something that may limit the effectiveness of F-22...but you know what we will also see something that may one up that too....
although the cost of stealth aircraft is very expensive how much do u think it would cost to develope this type of radar plus how could u test it if the country developing the radar doesnt have stealth planes themselves
Definitely much cheaper! unless you are talking abt the fitting in a old Mig-21MF airframe! I believe Stealth is over-rated! The European is correct to go on Typhoon develop!(Without the bulky and highly maintence full stealth airframe)

well i think u have underated stealth technology... in the unlikely (i hope) event of a war between the US and China or Russia i think u would be surprised how practical and invaluable they are considering all of them are capable of using smart bombs and nuclear weapons.
The best way to deliver nuclear so far to me is ICBM, 10 ICBM firing at u with the most pessimistic estimate of 3 MIRV plus 2 decoy of a single ICBM missile which means u have to target a total of 30 warheads for yr missile shield.... I know China don't have missile shield but it do not require. Cos offensive is the best way to go. DF-31 is a mobile launcher which is hard to target and track to prevent from launching.. DF-5 is capable of reaching all parts of the world. I know it is fix silo laucher but with deep buried,it may survive the first strike plus bomber first need to get pass heavily defended airspace of DF-5 site. One Type094 sub has launched with photo proven in Huitong site. Type 094 need not travel too far away from PLAN naval port to attack any parts of US...
Who needs a stealth plane to deliver nuclear weapon???
