Looks like the PLAN is very please with this class. It reminds me of the Perry class for the USN. They will no doubt become the workhorses of PLAN.
I think the size and armament load is perfect for patrols, escorts etc up to the 2nd island chain.

A little more than three weeks after the previous ship, a corvette new Type 056 was set afloat in a Chinese shipyard, the 42nd overall. This vessel of 1300 tons full load, with

The launch of the 42nd Corvette Type 056, "Deyang"

This corvette Deyang expected to enter service in the Eastern fleet in a year, in 2017. Although it is not specified, but it is a version of anti-submarine warfare, the Type 056A .

And we can also see that the 4 Chinese shipyards involved in the construction of the program have already launched 11 new Type 056 corvettes this year, in addition to the export versions and a variant dedicated to coast guard Chinese (the Type 718B ).

Here is the number of all the variants of this 1,300 ton corvette built in the four Chinese shipyards participating in the program -

Type 056 Type 056A C13B
Hudong Shipyard
(Shanghai) 5 8
Huangpu Shipyard
(Guangzhou) 5 7
Wuchang Shipyard
(Wuhan) 6 2 2
Shipyard Liaonan
(Dalian) 8 1 1
Statistically, the frequency of a corvette launched every one and a half months is maintained, and more precisely one every 41 days now, against 42 before. The new order of 10 hulls by the Chinese Navy has inflated the total number of Type 056 to 70.

If the current rate of production is maintained, this will guarantee a little more than 3 years of work to the 4 shipyards concerned.

This means that the Type 056 program will be completed before the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan, and that design offices should already be working on other programs today.

It will also be noted that the Huangpu (Guangzhou) and Hudong (Shanghai) shipyards remain the most active with a corvette out of their dry dock every three months, while seven months are needed for the two other shipyards, Wuchang and Liaonan.

I think you might have gotten the same one for 41st and 42nd. Looks like deyang was launched 2 days ago.

which would explain why the 2 056s posted look both to have come out of HD shipyard.

Now there was a 056 launched earlier this month at LiaoNan that was the 41st.
