This article shows just how out of touch with reality so-called "China experts" in the West are:

They see a discrepancy in official statistics and automatically assume the Chinese are killing or aborting their female infants. These false assumptions are then passed on as "facts" by the western media, and repeated so many times that the western public believe it for truth.

This is the same sloppy methodology that led to claims that Mao killed 30-80 million people.

"..........That app is called Instacharge, which, according to a news release sent by the country's department of information, "uses evolutionary technology" to let users "instantly recharge their smart phone's battery without the need for a charger or external battery pack".

Its creator, Douglas Stewart, claims the app saves excess power after a phone is fully charged, so at the push of a button a user can recharge in under 30 seconds wherever they are..."

It must be pretty slow in the newsroom to revive this three decade old crap.

I have friends who are white Republican males who use to always point to some tragic event on the news, serious and non-serious, and they would say, "It's a sign of the end of Western civilization." I would scoff at what they say after saying it regularly. Now I coming to their way of thinking.

They're trying assign blame for Hillary's defeat on the US ever trading with China? Why not blame the Chinese for resisting Western colonialism? If Chinese just volunteered to be slaves of the West there would be no trade complaints because all the money Chinese make would go to the slave masters instead of Chinese getting their slave wages from making their crap, and then Hillary would've been elected President. I remember when I was a kid in elementary school, there was a bully on the schoolyard and if anyone didn't like his harassment, he would tell them, "If you don't like it, maybe you should have never been born." Same thing.

Oh come on Mace, stop playing the China victim card, like BHO, the President of the United States and still "whining"?, Hillary lost because of Obamacare and 8 years under Obama's tyrannical non-constitutional slave master regime.

Hillary would have been more of the same, people on both sides of the aisle woke up and said "I don't think so!"..

Now have a good day, quite your whining, and be happy!

The person you mentioned has a very narrow mind. He is essentially claiming aspects of human civilization which began in the west to be western exclusively. He rejects the idea that all human west or east will be openly and willingly learn from each other. He is claiming absolute ownership of part of human civilization.

I have a thought from another perspective though. Many part of that "western" civilization will live on as part of "eastern" civilization even after western countries dominance disappear. A few example, Communism, Socialism, Market Economy (with some change), the essence of democracy (not the exact copy of western model), Modern Scientific methodology etc. "Das Kapital" is surely an western "invention" and China will be the last and firmest upholder along with Socialism all being from the west.

And in the past, western civilization also imported a lot from the east or south, Christianity was surely a foreign one from Asia, but now it is widely a western thing.

My point is, things start from a specific place, but they never stay at the same place, once they spread they belong to all human being and the human creation, the civilization. And civilizations don't die, they merge with each other and live under a different name.

It may not seem readily apparent right now, but I'm confident that in the next 100 years, we will see a unification or amalgamation of human cultures. Doesn't matter if it's western, eastern, islamic, or even African, in 100 years, barring any cataclysm that sets us back technologically, we will see a melting-pot global culture.

I am basing this prediction on our ability to communicate globally. Trade and communication is the driving factor of cultural exchanges throughout history. The only cultures that don't change are those cultures that remain isolated. Cultures that engage in frequent exchanges take on each other's characteristics until they become largely homogenous. Take, for example, the disparate European cultures in the 19th century, and the various Chinese cultures during the Warring States era.

Frankly your last two replies to me including this one... I have no idea what you're talking about. How am I playing victim? What was it that you didn't like? My choice of words? You think I went a little extreme? Well then some people shouldn't make absurd charges in the first place. If you read the article the pro-Hillary camp is blaming her loss on the most indirect explanation... if the US never traded with China, Hillary would be President... So who's the one playing victim? They brought up China not me and you fault my reaction that China is being use to cover up Hillary's flaws? So how am I bringing up China as the victim when they're using China as an excuse for why Hillary lost? If you don't want the finger pointed, than don't be the one pointing the finger in the first place. Maybe you think I should not say anything? I should let evil do what they do. I should know my place. Yeah and the idea of rights and freedoms Americans are suppose to embrace that they say they want the world to embrace is a fraud!

Yes I know people like you don't want the Chinese side to critically judge the US. Well then don't use China to explain all what goes wrong in the US. It's as simple as that. No victim card being played here. The victim culture is quite an American one. The reason why there's a victim culture is because the victimizer wants to control it. It's not about recognizing and helping victims. It's about controlling who is labelled a victim. Make being a victim a privilege that only a few get and all people who have been wronged or perceived themselves as being wronged will be fighting each other for who is more a victim and it becomes an absurdity and perversion. Which is why you bring up the victim card so you can reject it. Like Trump isn't playing victim. Like he hasn't been portraying America a victim of the big bad world? Maybe you think that's real victimization where US corporations make all the money from outsourcing and Americans blame it on foreign countries that these corporations exploit for slave labor. Americans play the victim card the most hence how they created the victim culture. That's what Trump used to win. Hillary lost because she thought she was the only victim.

Bringing up that I'm using the victim card isn't going to shut me up. That's because I'm not looking to my victimizer to like me therefore give me something out of guilt which is what the victim culture is about and which is the context that you know. Guess what? I don't care to convince you or change your mind because you're not my audience.

Why do dictators make it against the law for people to gather? It's because they don't control the conversation. When people get together, people are more likely to speak up when they find others that have similar feelings as they do and more importantly encourage each other to be more emboldened. Dictators want people to feel alone therefore it would be futile to do anything. I've brought up these incidents before... Americans don't like seeing anyone talking in another language around them... Southeast Asian refugees when they came to the US, families were separated and placed all over the country... I was in a car with a bunch of guys driving through UC Berkeley once and someone forgot an Asian was in the car where he then freely expressed how he was disturbed at seeing an Asian woman and an Asian man talking to one another as we drove by in the street. What do these incidents have in common? They don't want others to gather because they don't control the conversation. The internet has given people a new way to gather. Now you know who are my audience.
