It means that there's no more 052D for south sea?

There are rumours that the total count for 052D production may reach 18 (or even more). Some of those may go to SSF.

But yes, it's been well accepted that the first 12 052Ds would be split evenly between the three fleets.

I think we will have to see, but NSF and ESF will most likely get their 4 before SSF gets more.

Following on from the recent launch of the 10th 052D at JN shipyard recently.
Dalian has launched today, its 2nd 052D and 11th overall in class...........name of vessel 'CHENGDU'.
The 052D construction is sure moving at a swift pace now!

052D number 10/DDG-156 overall was launched from JN, not DL

Two of the 052Ds (DDGs 120 and 157) that are currently under construction (that have been positively identified) are both at DL.

I updated accordingly, also adding todays launch of the 11th vessel from Dalian.

I reckon JNCX will launch its 10th by Dec 2016 the 12th overall

If they ordered 6 more to get 18 units 2017 and 2018 should see those 6 launched

Post 2018 and into 2019 the way forward will be Type 055 CG

Unless a Type 052E appears

Are the 052D participating in the recent Chinese SCS live Ammo drill? And what about the China-Russia SCS training? Are they in or not?

I understand if they are not include the 052D in China - Russia Training; but feel weird if they don't include the 052D in the massive training exercise that they conclude recently.

They've conducted a number of exercises in SCS and ECS in the last few months (as per usual and expected), and quite a few of them involved 052Ds, yes.

But it's not like they deliberately publicized exercises for whether they had an 052D participating or not.
