What the ......

Is this from a magazine which one ? How come pictures have been released to a magazine but not before ? Who are the editors do they have more ?

It's annoying when I find stuff in magazines because that means we are missing ALOT !!'

A look at flight ops on the Liaoning. There is a shot of taking off in rough seas (1:35) but not landing. I see air-air missiles loaded but I don't recall seeing a takeoff loaded with bombs. I would guess the lack of an organic tanker aircraft prevents swapping fuel weight for bomb load.


I see a couple of hook slips but totally acceptable. Ideally you want to snag #3 but 4 is acceptable... however your application to become an instructor at siftee may be rejected if you do it consistently. :)

U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (May 28, 2015) Aviation Ordnancemen arm an F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to the Checkmates of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 211 on the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). This is a terrfic photo. Thanks for posting. Gents look at this photo in hi-res and see how many shipmates you see doing various task on the flight-deck. It looks some what busy. Much more busy than nay Russian flight deck photo I've ever seen. Yep. Nice job PLAN. Very nice indeed.

The fact that we haven't seen the J-15S aboard the carrier speaks to me that the assumption of it being a mere trainer aircraft is incorrect.
