I hate to ask this but does anyone else think the Kurds are the only force beside Assad that we should be backing I also realize that doesn't sit well with the Turks who I think are somewhat to blame for Isis in the first place

Who was it that first verbified the name Putin, here?

i doubt that.
i think that, now that the plan to destroy ISIL in Iraq and only degrade them when they move against 'moderates' and Kurds, in Syria, is being trumped [or, would that be 'putined'], some may not want the Su-25 to be seen as outperforming the A-10 in anti-ISIL operations. as ISIL, soon, will no longer be a viable option for threatening the Assad regime, it's now time to pull out all the stops and destroy them, everywhere.[...].

Funny, isn't it, that a subsequent verbification would occur, a day later, in the same thread, and referencing the same interaction?o_O

[...]
But it is likely that we won't see any of this as US is already motivated to become more active in destroying ISIL as the "moderate" rebels are being "putinized" so that ISIL looses its value.

Eerie, ain't it, how similar those quotes are, in substance?

Don't fret Taxiya, you're not the first to neglect this. Words enter usage from a variety of sources at a variety of times. Notice that I neither felt the need to defend my verbification on it's first appropriation, nor did I feel the need to defend it against your appropriation.

But, I will defend it against false-attributions! And, especially against third-party arbitrators that feel the need to advance and defend false attributions.;)

"TEHRAN (FNA)- A military official dismissed media reports claiming that a number of Russian cruise missiles have been fired at the terrorists' positions in Syria from Iran's territorial waters in the Caspian Sea.

"No cruise missile has been fired at the terrorists' positions in Syria from Iran's territorial waters in the Caspian Sea or through Iran's air space," an informed official of the Iranian Armed Forces said referring to the Russian missile launch at terrorist targets in Syria from the Caspian Sea in recent days.

Certain media outlets had quoted the Russian defense ministry as saying that the Russian army had targeted the terrorists' positions in Syria by 18 missiles from the Caspian Sea.

Russia on Friday unleashed cruise missiles from warships in the Caspian Sea at targets across Syria, the defense minister said, as Moscow kept up its intensified bombardments in the war-torn country.

Moscow fired 18 missiles from ships in its Caspian Sea fleet at seven targets in the Raqa, Idlib and Aleppo provinces, defense minister Sergei Shoigu was quoted as saying by Russian news agencies.

It was the second time that warships have been used since the start of the bombing campaign on September 30.

Moscow has stepped up its strikes in Syria with long-distance bombers after confirming for the first time on Tuesday that a bomb downed a Russian airliner in Egypt last month.

Shoigu told President Vladimir Putin in a briefing that cruise missile strikes against one target near the ISIL-controlled city of Deir Ezzor had killed "more than 600 fighters", but did not specify when the strike had taken place."
Hmmmmmm?

I'm with you!

I'm very interested in details of why that pocket in the north, the area near Khan Tuman and Al-Qarassi, in particular, has been such a though nut to crack. ...]

Moments ago, the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division –in coordination with Hezbollah, the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Aleppo City, Kataebat Al-Ba’ath (Al-Ba’ath Battalions), Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi paramilitary), Kataeb Hezbollah (Iraqi paramilitary), and Firqa Fatayyemoun – launched a counter-assault in the Khan Touman area, striking the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” and their allies from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham and Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki at the northeastern perimeter of the city.

The Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division and their allies were able to break-through Jabhat Al-Nusra’s frontline defenses after a series of intense firefights that resulted in the pro-government forces reentering the strategic city of Khan Touman; this aforementioned city is located along the imperative Aleppo-Damascus Highway.

Following their entrance into Khan Touman, the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division and their allies seized several points at the east district of the city, killing several enemy combatants from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki, and Jabhat Al-Nusra, while also destroying a confirmed 3 armored vehicles that were mounted with a variety of anti-aircraft machine guns.

With their reentry into Khan Touman, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies appear poised to seize this integral city after almost taking full control of it last month when they made a big push from the village of Al-Qarassi.

Recently, Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki, and Jabhat Al-Nusra conducted their own offensive last week that resulted in the recapture of the ICARDA facility and several other sites before the Syrian Army forestalled this assault.
