CX-1 Cruise Missile

Wow, a new cruise missile named CX-1. What a surprise (at least to me)! Does anyone know the specs on this thing?

Quite a substantial missile with three sets of (control) fins. To my untrained eyes, it looks larger than the P-800 Oniks and maybe as long as the P-700 Shipwreck. The length indicates both a substantial range and warhead. Likely ramjet powered and supersonic throughout its flight profile. The shock cone is sharper than the P-800's and more closely resembles that of the P-700.

Beyond the specs, I'm very curious as what platforms are capable of launching this missile.

IMHO, this may well be a notable strategic development, since it could significantly add to the challenges facing the US carriers, not to mention much smaller combatants.

P.S. This year's Zhuhai is shaping up to be one hell of a show.

IMHO, exactly what the PLAN needs, if it was smaller and could be fitted into the new VLS of the 052D/055.
IMHO YJ-18 is inadequate due to its long subsonic mid-course cruise, which makes it easily to be intercepted with the help of carrier AEW and RIM-174A SM-6s.

But if its truly that large, I do not think that we can expect it to be used by anything other than shore-based launchers. Not even H-6s would be able to carry a ship-wreck sized missile, if the YJ-12 is already pushing them to the limits.

Too bad. P-800/Brahmos would have been a great mainstay AShM for the PLAN's future destroyer force.:(

I wonder how a killing machine would create a wonderful life?

Investment in the aerospace industry has implications across society as a whole. Many technologies now prevalent were invented by NASA for space missions; it's to be expected that something similar would occur for China.

Isn't the new VLS something like 9-10 meters in depth? That could allow the CX-1 to barely squeeze in. BR is going to explode.
