Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 is Missing

If every country is to be ridiculed for appealing to its own mediaeval mumbo jumbo, no country would emerge unscathed, and China likely come out worse than most with its Yin, Yang, Chi and geomancy.

That's why I said it's one thing as a private action, another as a govt action.

The first thing the pilot and crew must do when they become aware of decrompression is to don their supplemental oxygen masks. So they should not then succumb to hypoxia if they had time to react to decompression at all. If they had no time to react, then the plane should fly on under autopilot after the crew became incapacitated.

Why not both? Like I surmise in my earlier post usually when something really out of the ordinary happens it's a series of unfortunate events that usually wouldn't happen by itself let alone consequitively. If someone says the odds of AP not working and a small undetectable leak which eventually lead to hypoxia is say 1 in 100 million, then I have a few powerball winners to show him :)

For all we know whatever that happened to MH370 be it a singular event or a string of events that culminate in a crashed, it could very well the first time that it has ever happened since the advent of flight. It doesn't even have to be anything exotic like some stories floating out there.. Could be something extremely simple.

Missing Malaysia Airlines plane: US issued warnings over Boeing 777s

Would the potential crack under the satellite antenna disrupt the operation of the antenna itself? Is this satellite antenna related to GPS at all? If the GPS gives faulty signal to the autopilot, then it's possible that the plane drifts off course while on autopilot. However, there are 3 things making this scenario unlikely:

1. There should be redundancy with multiple satellite antennas on the plane. So the malfunction of one does not disrupt the autopilot functions
2. Autopilots combine data from GPS and inertial navigation, so the autopilot could still function even without GPS. Of course, the inertial navigation estimates would start drifting overtime, but the drift should be slow.
3. If the plane has indeed turned almost 180 right after losing contact, this would not be caused by the drifting of inertial navigation system. Something else would've caused this relatively rapid change in heading

Report: Final Words from Jet Were 'All Right, Good Night'

I'm now leaning more toward pilot suicide or Malay air force shot down the plane if it did went off course without any signaling and proceed to cover up the accident with the misinformations.

I remembered hearing from Vietnamese side when the plane lost contact with Air traffic controller (Vietnam side), said the plane was not in Vietnam air space as it is still 2 minutes away from entering.

Let's take a break from excessive speculation. Does anyone have good photos to share of all the ships, aircraft, and equipment participating in the SAR effort?

CNN just announced that the Chinese government released satellite pictures showing three major pieces of debris in the South China Sea, near Vietnam's coast and roughly along the original flight path. I'm sure more details will come out soon.

(CNN) -- A Chinese satellite looking into the mysterious disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 "observed a suspected crash area at sea," a Chinese government agency said -- a potentially pivotal lead into what has been a frustrating search for the Boeing 777.
China's State Administration for Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense announced the discovery, including images of what it said were "three suspected floating objects and their sizes." The objects aren't small at 13 by 18 meters (43 by 59 feet), 14 by 19 meters and 24 by 22 meters.
The images were captured on March 9 -- which was the day after the plane went missing -- but weren't released until Wednesday.

I'm watching the discussion on TV about the Chinese possibly discovering the wreckage with their satellites. You're already seeing it being more about the missing plane. Talk about how come the Chinese took so long to release this information. I'll predict this that if turns out to be the wreckage of the missing 777, this will be the topic buzzing soon... Chinese satellites being able to find parts of a jetliner... how about an aircraft carrier?

There objects seem to me to be too large to be wreckage from an airliner. The fuselage of the 777 is a 8-9 meter diamter tube. The wings of the aircraft are each around 20 meters long but nowhere near 13, 14, or 22 meters wide. It is hard for me to see how the aircraft could have left one piece of wreckage that size, much less 3. The liferafts made from inflatable emergency slides are also nowhere near that size.

Here's a clip from CNN and the image the Chinese government released.
