Re: Malaysia Airlines Plane is Missing

Well I did posit yesterday that a main state actor was not being fully truthful about what it knows and this now seems to be confirmed with the drip feed coming from Malaysia.

Gut feeling this morning? Based on report of burning object in the sky and that people with nothing to hide do not try and deceive or mislead, is back to some form of military accident and the that the misdirection has been to allow the Malay authorities to recover the most incriminating evidence against them.

If this is the case, then they will have fallen into the oldest political trap, where the revelations of the attempt to cover up is many times worse than the revelations of the accident itself.

Missing Malaysia Airlines plane: US issued warnings over Boeing 777s

Interesting and informative article.

Thanks.

Though it's conclusions are speculative, it probably gives as coherent an explanation of what could have happened based on known facts about the aircraft, and a structural flaw that had been warned about, that could have led to a situation that fits the other facts.

A favorite saying I have is "what are the odds", but I've also experienced enough dumbass incidents to say that odds happen so often, that even humanity's greatest virus, HIV, originated in a very "what are the odds" method. However that's something else to discuss.

I also like the speculations/theories you have offered, which brings me to the next question: are there mountains in those areas?

Yes, there are pretty significant mountain ranges in Malaysia especially if the plane was below 5000 ft. There is also one that pretty much runs the length of the island of Sumatra which looking at the search grid could very be where the plane ended up as well.

You have got to be kidding me! Why even the need for transit? Obviously in a special case like this the airline should've flown them straight to Malaysia.

That's the best scientific explanation I've read thus far. A slow leak that eventually lead to some sort of hypoxia or incapitation of crew. Assuming if that is the case the 'good' news is everyone died in their sleep.

Until the plane is found and its last minutes, or hours, reconstructed, there is no grounds to say Malaysia covered anything up.

Currently the only crime Malaysia can really be said to be under strong suspicion is it has no streamlined and filtered process for releasing various pieces of information from players in its airline, civil aviation administration and military. As a result anyone semi-official who happen to think, without any real information discipline, that they have something to add would pipe up and add to the confusion.

The bad news is if that is all it is, then there is high chance the plane would have cruised on autopilot with waypoints all set when it happened, and once the crew has become incapacitated, the plane should continue on autopilot. This means if the plane was intact it probably would have gone on almost all the way to Beijing, and then probably kept on going until it ran out of fuel. It seems extremely unlikely it could have flown over Ho Chi Minh city, or entered Chinese air space from the South (where Chinese routinely monitor for signs of American surveillance aircraft, recall the 2000 Heinan incident), without being detected.

So this leads to the question of why it didn't go much further? It would be interesting to see its flight plane and where all the way points are.

The countries helping in the search & rescue are obviously assigned with their area of responsibility. Thailand has finished their part and will only continue further if Malaysia request further assistance.

However, the operation would resume if requested by Malaysian authorities, said Vice Admiral Taratorn Kajitsuwan, chief of the Third Naval Area Command.

He explained that no additional vessels were needed as a close search had already been conducted in the area assigned to the Thai Navy - in the Andaman Sea from Langkawi Island to Pangkor Island off Malaysia’s Perak state.
- i.e. the area from the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

BANGKOK: The search by the Royal Thai Navy in Thai-Malaysian waters for missing MAS flight MH370 might end soon if no progress is seen, a senior Navy commander said Tuesday.

On Tuesday, the Navy’s search began near a location where the Singaporean Navy reported the sighting of passenger life vests - around 60 nautical miles north of Sumatra. However, the search did not locate a vest or anything else that might be part of a Boeing 777-200 aircraft or any sign indicating the cause of the MH370 flight going missing.

He said the search could be temporarily put on hold if there were no sign of further progress. – The Nation/ANN
