I was blessed about 13 years ago to visit Boston and, among many other site, to visit the USS Constitution.

Wonderful experience and a very extra-ordinary vssel.

She is still commissioned and a Navy Captain is hr CO there, with several sailors and another officer or two manning her.

I purchased a book there

by Tyrone Martin, which is about the Constitution and her life. An amazing story and I would recommend the read to anyone.

USSConst-02.jpg

My 1/96th scale wooden model of the USS Constitution with the book displayed next to her

The author was one of the modern Captains of the USS Constitution.

Anyhow, my youngest son (who was ten at the time) and my wife were with me.

When was the last time you heard of a rear-Admiral climbing the net like that?

My thoughts exactly. This makes the ADM more down to Earth.. the USN would have transported an ADM via helo. Nothing wrong with that..just sayin'..
