Based on this list, wondering how they will complement flotillas of OPVs & FFGs to ESF/NSF/SSF since the proposed numbers are odd (40-056s/20-054As including 054s/24-054Bs).
IMO should be 48-056s (4 OPV flotillas each) & also should be 24-054As including 054s (2 FFG flotillas each) however, 054B numbers are OK with 24 (2 FFG flotillas each).

Interesting chart of frigate/corvette construction build.
Whether this chart is based on true knowledge, we cant say at this moment...........but time will tell as when new ships are completed we will be able to make a comparison of pennant numbers against this list.
One thing though I noticed there does seem to be errors on the list as it is currently shown..........i.e. there are some pennant numbers shown where the older 053 ships will be replaced by 054B Frigates, but the actual pennant numbers are shown in the 054A Frigate column.
It would of been nice to of seen a time frame on this list as well.
Interestingly, I have also seen Chinese navy construction plans for this decade on another website, and again the list appears to of been created by a Chinese person, who seemed to of gone to great lengths to specify how much of a percent each ship would be completed in a given year.

Construction of 055 Destroyer/Cruiser to begin in 2013.
By 2020 I think the list said there would be at least 8 055's completed.
The type 052D construction would continue aside the type 055, and in the latter part of the decade a further improved version of this class the 052E would be built around 2017 onwards.
Like I said, the charts could be a Chinese fanboys creation, BUT it will be interesting to see if they become realised to be true.

I have just seen a shot (now picture 1 in escobar’s post # 2347 here: http://www.sinodefenceforum.com/navy/plan-carrier-operations-news-videos-photos-ii-157-6173.html) of 1 Destroyer Flotilla at Qingdao-Jiaonan, showing two Type 051C (115 and 116) and four Type 054A.
That means that 054A HD 7 WEIFANG 550 was indeed commissioned 21 March (not 21 April, as shown on in A. Man’s post #2138).The other 054A’s are the familiar 538, 546 and 547.
If they can keep up that building rate at Hudong (and why not, since they do not have any Type 071 to do at the same time), HD 8 SANYA 574 could commission in July and HD 9 531 in December 2013.

The only error I could find in the list is that 545 was not in column 2 and was written in red in column 1. Apart from that, 511-519, 533-537, 539-545, 551-555, and 557-559 will all decommission by the time they reach the age of 30 or so, ending in about 2023.
The 2003-2020 construction schedule you refer to was posted by A. Man on 28 September 2012, but I cannot relocate in which thread.
It had 6 Type 055A in service by 2020, as well as 8 Type 054B. It also had 2 Type 052E in service by 2020, but they seem highly doubtful.
I think maybe they should go for the same size as 052D, even if it means they'll end up with less number of cells, and develop something like the ESSM that they can quad pack into these cells while still have similar engagement range as the original HQ-16, or better. This will also allow them to carry larger/more types of munitions should they wish to.
