Pritilata Waddedar (5 May 1911 – 23 September 1932)[1] was a Bengali revolutionary nationalist.[2][3] After completing her education in Chittagong, she attended the Bethune College in Calcutta. Pritilata graduated in Philosophy with distinction.

After a brief stint as a school teacher, Pritilata joined a revolutionary group headed by Surya Sen. She led a 15 man team of revolutionaries[4] in a 1932 attack on the Pahartali European Club,[5][6] which had a sign board that read "Dogs and Indians not allowed".[2] The revolutionaries torched the club and were later caught by the British police. To avoid getting arrested, Pritilata consumed cyanide and died.[7]

Absolutely nothing to do with education, but just to make a point to verify how China overnationalism/jingoism can indeed be racist, and not something even the pro-Chinese should deny. It's absolutely disgusting.
The store owner is a classic example of how these Chinese THINKS they are showing their love for their country and is proud of it, but in fact their uneducated, illiterate, uncivilized attitude is hurting China more than anything. And I'm very appalled by such outrageous overt display of racism like it's a pride or something. This action totally ranks itself next to the KKK, and is absolutely disgusting.

I really don't have a problem with this at all. For you it was all good when the westerner was doing this to Chinese people in the 19th and 20th century, but don't like it when Chinese do this to others.

I find it absolutely sad that how some forum members here would attempt to blindly defend China at all costs without even using one bit sense of rational thought and proper moral judgement. While it's true we cannot always agree on political issues, I'd thought that certain moral duties have no need to be contested for. Actions that are racist, radical, extreme, should never be defended, as it will only encourage these ideals to foster to become even more pronounced. Today the reason may be patriotism, but tomorrow it can even be said as "cultural". Today it's only racial name-calling, but tomorrow it can be hate crimes.

I know recently I've displayed a much different attitude towards China than in the past, but that's because I'm a moderate and a critic who uses rational reasoning, not blind support to China. If we equate patriotism to self-esteem, like moderate stress, patriotism can get things done. However also like self-esteem, if it goes beyond rational reasoning, or it becomes too high and no self-reflection, then it becomes arrogance.

We all knew the history of China especially the things it had went through the past 100 hundred years. No matter how traumatic the past is, it's the present now and it's important to move forward. Calling all criticism as "Western imposing values" are merely excuses for a bad phenomenon to occur and it is as bad as saying "they are jealous of us", "they are out to get us", as self-delusional and self-comforting measures to not accept criticism.
