I wish China would combine drone technology and their developing naval strength.

I remember I used to play homeworld back in the day and I loved to utilize Drone Frigates and Drone type vessels, where by hundreds and thousands of drones can be deployed. It's almost as if Drones could be utilized defensively as Chaff, or, overwhelm AESA radar with signatures like that U.S. air force prototype which focused on increasing RCS to mimic multiple bomber signatures.

Is it me or does it seems that for every program that US have, China have something similar? Especially drones, and probably everything else as well.

There is from a published paper written by PLAAF representives at SAC:

Basically according to this paper, SAC will have a X-47-like UAV ready by this year, the UAV has a flying wing configuration, and has wingspan of around 14+ meter and a length around 10+ meter.

According to the paper, the UAV has a RCS which is two or more magnitudes lower than a conventional fighter of similiar dimension (in their case, the author use 5 m^2 of RCS as the RCS of a conventional medium weight fighter), as well as have low infra-etc characters:

'ready' would mean first flight ? Glad to see SAC fighting back.

From the article, yes.

And military insiders in China suggests 601 inistute at Shenyang has outsourced the manufacturing job of this thing to Hongdu, instead of SAC, Hongdu also produces K-8 and L-15 etc.

SAC will be busy with their SU-27 modifications, J-21/F-60 (unlike J-20, it is allowed to export, so it can be a big deal for them since usually exported weapons are far more profitable for the factory, comparing to these sold to PLA at a pre-determined price with no chance of bargin) and a rumored large stealth strike aircraft.

Btw, I have mistakenly assumed the UAV is funded by PLAAF, after a double-check I figured the UAV bombers developed at Shenyang is most likely funded by PLAN, which usually only take projects which PLAAF dont want.
