If you compare the income vs the expense, there is still a minus sign. Anyway you don't spend all 2.3 trillion on F-22 and 1.64 trillion on J-20, right?

Banned Idiot
Just short 15 years ago, China's GDP per capita was 1/50 of the United States & had very few private cars. So, what is the point? Now, China is outsold the United States by 5 million cars a year. Oh, you will say per capita, right? Well, the United States, 300 million people consume about 900 million tons of oil annually. If China consumes the same per capita as the US, China needs 4 billion tons of oil. We have to send you Mig-29 to stone age because there would be no oil for you to fly. Why China needs to export J-20? They still don't have any ideas how to spend 3 trillion plus dollars in cash. Because of China is buying, it made the worthless rocks in Austrialia like gold.

China`s J-20 is an expensive toy, very expensive indeed, at least it must be in the range of 100-80 million dollars. let us suppose the Chinese J-20 is 1/4 of the price of the F-22, the F-22 cost around 180 million dollars, so it will let the J-20 in 45 million of dollars, now think for a moment do you think it costs 45 million dollars?

let us see what the average chinese makes in a really good salary

a good minimun wage in China is around 238 dollars a month, see, how many people can live with a J-20?

see they say a chinese minimun wage is around 4 times cheaper than in the US

Now a realistic price for a J-20 is around 90-80 million dollars at the cheapest

See that the US has a military budget 5-6 times bigger than China, so when you see that you can understand that the J-20 is not a cheap toy, in fact 2 J-20s might be very expensive if you consider that the US population is 4 times smaller than the Chinese and its GDP per capita at least 6 times bigger.

Europe has a NATO a military budget similar to China`s, just consider that Italy, Germany, England and Spain make the Eurofighter and France Rafale.
If the Europeans making Rafale and Eurofighters have trouble making 300 jets and the US making 180 F-22s do you think that China will make J-20s like baked bread? be realistic, the J-20 is a expensive machine as expensive in social costs as F-22.

You cannot estimate the price of J-20 in the same way that the price of F-22 is established. Lockheed Martin and all the other subcontracting companies are for-profit private companies. With all the profit margin and everything else, the price of the plane is pushed up dramatically. Simply look at the price tag of F-35! With the J-20, CAC and all the other institutes involved in developing and manufacturing J-20 are govn't-owned/non-profit facilities. Everything military-wise is a lot cheaper in China, even assuming China and the US have similar economy and GDP, etc... Assuming J-20 is having similar lingering issue like F-35, China does not have to pay anything extra since the people working on the project are already working at these institutes and they will get paid no matter what. So no extra cost involved. Unlike Lockheed Martin, which has to be compensated for whatever they do...
