This place looks awesome at night with all the lights, based on what I have seen in other photos.

Planning a side trip to Shanghai and Suzhou on a familiarization and pleasure trip from Tokyo in October 2012, What do you recommend for a minimum stay. I was thinking perhaps 3-4 nights? too short or too long? No time for over 1 week.

I did same for 1 week in London and 10 days in Munich to Frankfurt and 1 week in Paris on 3 separate trips

I actually prefer the daylight look, as I love the look of old colonial buildings mixed with modern high rises. So typically Shanghainese! Unfortunately, the Bund is such a pain to get to. Invariably, you have to wade through thick crowds and walk for 20 minutes. Far longer when the wife insists on checking out every store on the way...

It gets that crowded during day time? LOL...that's what you get for going shopping with a woman (wife or girlfriend), they want to check out every single store!

Well, I do not sure is it OK for me to reply a thread 4 years ago, I just want to tell T-U-P that I saw my hometown Hefei on your HSR ticket LOL.
