We have a Star Wars and Sci-Fi thread, but no Kung Fu movie thread? Time to rectify that!
Anyone else tired of all those Wire-Fu crap coming out lately? When are they going to go back to the good old "real" martial arts choreography like Huang Feihong and Shaolin Temple?
Probably the best (relatively speaking) kung fu movie I've seen lately is Forbidden Kingdom with Jackie Chan and Jet Li. Li's portrayal of the Monkey King isn't that great (at least not to someone who grew up with the 80's TV-series of Journey to the West), but the fight scenes and character designs were pretty awesome. The only questionable part was, as one reviewer put it, "who invited the white guy?".
