Not quite, but with moving LERX / Chines. (basically blending the canard into the wing-root and fuselage)

I'd remove the ventral fins and stape the LERX a bit -- they're too round for my taste at the moment.
I think the canards are there for a reason, and while Levcons can take some of the canards roles, as a poster whose name i forget, once said -- TVC can't take the place of control surfaces, just like how moving LERX can't take the place of canards.
I suspect without canards much of the J-20s manouverability will go with it. A clean delta, or if it had LERX would be more of a FB-22, which the current J-20 seems to be rather close to at the moment anyway.

You want to know to what specification the aircraft is designed. If maneuverability is desired you get vertical and horizontal tail surfaces or a very much improved TVC with the attendant maintenance. How well is the center of gravity constrained (fuel tanks, ordnance).

Decisions have already been made on the use of canards, lerx and their actual shape and position in the design of J-20. Any more minor changes to them would mean wrong calculations and decisions. As far as I know, the production J-10 design have no changes from that of the first J-10 prototype, which augurs well to the J10 designer's ability. Similarly, no further changes to the J-20 design would actually imply accomplished design goals. This is other than a further improved J-20 variant down the timeline with major design changes to the nozzles and, maybe, other parts of the aircraft.

I definitely see the inclusion of TVC nozzles. They will also work on reducing the weight of the plane at some stage.

I agree, as these upgrades are quite straghtforward. I wonder whether they've already designed ahead to be able to retrofit heavier TVC nozzles later on.
