J-20... The New Generation Fighter

Lol there are people on the otherside of the spectrum who spew stuff from their rearsides too -- fanboys who say China has a half dozen stealth fighter programmes all due to enter service in two years, that they have numerous nuclear powered stealth bombers etc etc. The constant is both of these outlier groups don't use critical thinking, like you said.

On the photo, it could be a PS, or it could be a picture from a speculated earlier test flight? I don't believe it would be a flight from Chengdu within recent days with the crowds there. I'm still hoping for a flight on Tuesday...

------

Also, to popeye or any other mods, I think it's time this thread is closed and sticky-ed for a J-20 NGF thread II (make a J-10 thread IV while you're at it too lol) -- the J-10 threads had slightly over 1000 replies before they were closed. This thread has twice that number now.

if there's a nominee for SDF's favorite thread of the year, i bet the J-20 thread would be the gold. also i agree with u. i've read almost every posts, and i generally think u, sampan, vesicles, and plawolf's are pretty good. (if i missed anyone else's name, im sorry. there are more, but im just pulling names out of the hat, and plawolf's not a bad contributor if he doesnt feed the troll. i'd think there's a reason he's on temporary bans and not perms.)
i also rarely participate in technical discussions cuz i aint no expert, so i'd rather read and learn than to blabber and then told to shutup by others like quite a few instances we see above happening to some idiot blabbering bout copying. gotta love it when people carry their attitudes from mp.net and socnet over to somewhere like sdf. they might be respectable veterans of war and very nice people with skills in whatever they're good at in real life, but when it comes to these topics and critical thinking...many of them suck at it(they're so brainwashed, like seriously, with those arguments and stuff. they just absorb anything their "trusted sources" tell them...like some sort of channel fox resoc)

and speaking of that, i just have to mention it again: sdf is the opposite of MP.net. mp.net is good for visual, not for the mind. discussions there are a joke

So far we have seen the photos of the J-20 with two different nozzles, black one and white one. However, both are numbered "2001". This suggests that both are the same airframe with different nozzles. But I don't think they could change the entire engine that fast. So, I assume like this the white nozzle that I see is actually a cover of the nozzle or some type of stealthy measurement. What do you guy think?

Certainly possible. However there is an unpainted section near the nose of the first 2001 that doesn't seem to appear on the second. Correct me if I am wrong.
