Re: New Generation Fighter

Do you have any more info on the J-16A? It looks a lot like the J-10C.

And isn't the designation "J-16" given to a stealth J-11B built by SAC?
At Hui Tong's site has the best available information on the Shenyang J-16 at the moment. But don't forget some times Shenyang and Chengdu work on the same requirements - as in the the older J-9 project; and of course the newer J-20 project

Hmmm ... Seems as if it is part of one picture that was intentionally blurred ... Any ideas ???

Deino
I noticed that too but like another member stated before I have never seen it at that angle before. Plus I can see blue flame in the port side engine exhaust - on afterburner perhaps (?) No idea on the blurring effect though - of course it is two-tone. Looks real but could be PSed, but at this point of the J-20 why would anyone PS a photo of the J-20???

I guess you can say they want to show that the plane can fly. The plane is an object of national pride to them and they want to prove the detractors wrong. My 2 cents. :)

Just found at Top81 .... ... is it real or ??

IMO it looks manipulated like from a video-still but I haven't see the plane from this angle before.

I don't think the 1.3 billion Chinese and the Chinese from abroad cares about what some of the misinformed caucasians, Japanese or Indians think. So long it flies, does the job and can be mass produced in China then they have hit the nail on the head. What they say to belittle them has little meaning but to make themselves look like weeping little boys.

err, because this is kinda would be *first* photo of flying J-20?

Well that is a lame idea to PS at photo - because in a few days the J-20 will get airborne anyway, why worry about one PSed photo? It isn't "live" ! You know, like we all want to see - and we shall all see it fly.

possible. i won't doubt logical and reasonable guesses. people like us use critical thinking, unlike some people who blabbers shit out of their arses(like those claiming stuffs are copied from wherever)

Lol there are people on the otherside of the spectrum who spew stuff from their rearsides too -- fanboys who say China has a half dozen stealth fighter programmes all due to enter service in two years, that they have numerous nuclear powered stealth bombers etc etc. The constant is both of these outlier groups don't use critical thinking, like you said.

On the photo, it could be a PS, or it could be a picture from a speculated earlier test flight? I don't believe it would be a flight from Chengdu within recent days with the crowds there. I'm still hoping for a flight on Tuesday...

Also, to popeye or any other mods, I think it's time this thread is closed and sticky-ed for a J-20 NGF thread II (make a J-10 thread IV while you're at it too lol) -- the J-10 threads had slightly over 1000 replies before they were closed. This thread has twice that number now.
