You have to understand that you have a segment of the Filipino population that thinks if ever a 2nd/3rd gen US-born American citizen of Filipino descent (full-bloodied/mixed) that can't even speak/understand tagalog properly somehow achieves landing on the moon is also a literal world class achievement of the Philippines and native Filipino people. So it's not far off to think this also applies to the military even if we only get a participation trophy.

Most of them are depended from relatives working in the United state, so you can't deny their loyalty from Uncle Sam. These Dependency is one of the Pillars of US imperialism, the other two is Religion and Language.

Batanes Island isn't part of Philippines under Spanish .
Batanes was part of Taiwan under Qing Dynasty and Japan later Annexed it.
After WWII US just handed that Philippines. It doesn't belong to US nor Philippines.

Funny how in this "10th Anniversary Joint Statement" on the kangaroo court's "tribunal award", none of the ASEAN member states apart from the Jai Pagpags are involved, despite some of them being directly involved in the SCS disputes.
