Haha lol.
Is it too much a stretch to call this fighter a 'modified' J-10, as made by a PLAAF deputy commander?![]()
This fighter is obviously only a J-10 with two engines and the F-117's tails and the F-22's nose and canopy -- of course the whole layout was even copied piece by piece by the Mig 1.44 and the DSI intakes are from the F-35, which the Chinese acquired from Israel and their hackers.
Of course even the J-10 isn't their own fighter, it's basically a Lavi and F-16 so really this so called 5th generation jet is just an upgraded Lavi with stolen Russian and Israeli avionics.
I think I got all bases covered there.
No no no, you're still missing the fact that the RAM is infested with lead, the pilot is sure to be inhaling melamine, and the build quality is so bad, it'll be lucky if innocent bystanders on the ground don't die from pieces falling off it provided it even makes it off the ground.
Also, obligatory "No worries, China 50 years behind America in every way." comment.

Time to add a little humor to this thread, for those of you who understand Chinese.
I sure hope that the J-XX is real or this poor man is gonna...
Some claims the maiden flight will be conducted before Chinese new years' day (e.g. before Feb. 2011), others claimed it can be done as early as before west new years day.
Btw, the commander of PLAAF has arrived at CAC today.
In China, if you got the boss man flew in that can be either:
There's some critical snag and the boss come to crack the whip;
or
It's about time and he brings a box of cigars.
He won't flew in just to hear reports from the project team - they got teleconference to do that just fine. Something's big enough to have him see in person.
So yes, I agree that the coming few days is worth to keep an eye on.
It took 3 years to go from first flight to IOC on the J-11B. J-20 will enter IOC by 2013-2015. Even huitong's site says "around 2015." The difference between China and other countries like USA and Russia is that China doesn't use technology demonstrators. The prototyping stage is done only when all the component technologies are ready. Look at how the J-10B tests the component technologies of the J-20. On top of that China is already building on top of well-established engineering principles, so it doesn't face trial-and-error problems.
For example, J-20 does not have the wings lower to the ground on the fuselage as in the YF-23 Blackwidow and the F-117. Instead the wings are higher / middle on the fuselage as in the F-22 and T-50. As 70092 said, this is structurally stronger.
It's good to see J-20 using FWS10A instead of 117S (Jane's was proven wrong already). Too bad Maya said that WS-15 has not done the high altitude testing yet. If WS-15 goes really smoothly, we will probably have IOC by 2013 and the mass production version in 2015 will use WS-15.
J-20 will be able to dominate over any aircraft on the planet. I can see J-20 chewing up the F-22 in WVR as both sides are unable to win in BVR. The F-35 should be no match at all. By 2013, China should have a 10 year lead on all other air forces in the world.
