I quite like this article. How Iran elites are stunned by the success of their blockade that nukes are actually not mentioned on state media as much.

Their shift from nuke to blockade as their trump card can dramatically change how Iran approaches their nuclear program in the future. Trading it in for concession.

I wouldn't get too excited. The article itself discusses a debate, not a decision. Even if some factions see Hormuz as an additional source of leverage, that doesn't mean Iran is about to abandon a capability it has spent decades developing.

For years, many people have predicted that Iran would eventually give up its nuclear ambitions, yet the program has endured sanctions, sabotage, assassinations, cyberattacks & military pressure. That persistence reflects how Tehran views nuclear capability: as a long-term strategic asset, not something to be permanently traded away for short-term concessions.

If people are comfortable with Israel retaining a nuclear deterrent indefinitely, it's difficult to see why they expect Iran to voluntarily forgo the option forever. Don't raise your hopes too much.

The more likely outcome is Iran negotiating over the scope & visibility of its program while preserving as much capability as possible, not abandoning the pursuit altogether. The article's "Hormuz replaces nukes" thesis strikes me as considerably more speculative than the author acknowledges.

If it's so easy to "simply seize" crypto currency, then crypto isn't what it purports to be.
Probably a simple case of credential stealing malware. Plenty of tech illiterate people store plain text passwords on their desktop in a text file. If Israel was able to mass hack CCTV cameras to aid in conducting decapitation strikes, it's a really low bar to steal people's crypto passwords from poor security practice.

So embarrassing. Super power with military budget of over a trillion reduced to begging for help. This is looking more and more like America's Suez Canal moment.

The U.S. government is spending $88 billion a month in interest on national debt—equal to spending on defense and education combined

War is expensive operation. Closure of straits of hormuz, create rising oil prices, slower economy and rising US borrowing cost...

After weeks of boasting that he’s destroyed Iran’s armed forces, Trump now says ‘we actually left their military alone’
