Look at the invest capitals of the bosses behind running that country....you just bomb it. Just drag this war to 5 years and eat away at their resources. Don't listen to all those nonsense ceasefire, where you see from history, empire is won or lost base on ceasefire or deals.....it's either they implode within or explode external....all empire thru their history and civilization goes thru that. I never read, an empire survive or thrive base on "deals". It's max and max.....in one end to the other. Trump term or the current US presidency cycle of 4 or 5 years are just peanuts in time measurement in history of team. I would tell you to measure Iranian ability to produce hypersonic precision strike missiles vs American ability to produce interceptors.
Or Iranian ability to produce thousands of Shaheds while US struggle to produce its LUCAs clone.
But it would save us both a lot of time if we just use the $300B US is considering giving Iran as reparations after losing the war as the unit of measurement.
The current scenario is optimal for Iran. Remember, Iran never intended to win the war on the battlefield. Also, in terms of destructive power, Iran can't even get close to the US. The plan for Iran has always been to squeeze the US economically by choking the SOH. Now ... they could do that while being bombed, or they could still do the same without being bombed. They have wisely chosen the latter. I don't know why you want them to choose the former. As long as the Iranians aren't rushing to open the SOH before a comprehensive deal (including upfront cash in the form of unfreezing assets), I am not worried.

America is still far more powerful than Iran overall, it’s just that it’s advantages have so fundamentally and comprehensively been eroded by time and the advancement of others that it is no longer able to overcome the tyranny of distance nor could it achieve the kind of combat exchange rates Americans have been used to and come to expect.
With its conventional forces at any rate. Which is a fundamentally important caveat as America’s nuclear arsenal is both its greatest endowment of hard power and the one advantage that still retains its full deterrence power. That is not just idle speculation as Trump’s most deranged postings suggest he was perhaps closer to pressing the proverbial big red button than any remotely sane and rational human being wouldn’t be terrified to find out.
If America cross that mental rubicon and started using nukes, Iran will have no option but to surrender or be literally wiped off the map as a country, people and civilisation.
Such a move would earn America pariah status in all truly civilised parts of the world and deeply isolate it sure, but turning America into a continental version of early 2000s NK with far more nukes, an actually insane mad tyrant and a proven track record of using nukes to resolve conventional problems is not a ‘win’ in anyone’s books.
It is because of this eventually that America’s decline need to be carefully managed, as winning alone is meaningless if America clacks off the ultimate suicide vest in its final death throes and takes the rest of humanity with it.
You're going to be disapointed at what Iran will do if US do use nukes, because Iran's "underground great wall" arent just immune to bunker busters. Theres a higher chance they subquently "aquire" nukes and then nuke Israel, or even the US with their "aquired" ICBM in return than them surrendering.
US isnt the only nuclear power on the planet and the use of nukes against non nuclear states destroys the protection afforded to it by the agreement between nuclear powers, the opertunity to nuke America via Iran is not something Russia or even China will pass up, even if they have to go through NK middlemen. Hard reality here is even in the realm of nuclear war, US still lacks the hard power required to fight it, simply because Iran can actualky survive a nuclear war far better than US can survive the consequences.
As the saying goes, if you have to ask how much, you cant afford it. Global powers dont need to count their inventory or worry about loses, if you have to count, you're not qualified to play.
