These guys (and many others) are a total waste of time but occasionally give nuggets of gold. I find listening to their podcasts the worst brainrot a human can subject themself to. Rely on others to distill the gold. Happens so occasionally it's not worth opening a single chinese military podcast if it isn't your full time job. I honestly feel bad for Western spies whose job it is to sift through the mountain ranges of Chinese military fan podcast for a grain of something potentially accurate to cross check with.

Some of these guys are a bit connected but they all talk with a "low class" and uneducated tone. And yes, it is hoodlum vernacular half the time. Makes you wonder.
Sometimes I wonder if they deliberately make it have such a low signal to noise ratio to make it harder for outsiders to efficiently get information.

But most of it is probably deliberately wanting to make it a form of entertainment and to be "personalities" and "content creators" in their own right. I suppose it's a fair tradeoff for being able to get what is ultimately some credible and predictive information now and then, but it does lend the risk of making PLA watching too colloquial, self-satisfied and too meme-heavy.

Content creator/influencer are just their part-time jobs.

Deep down, their secret actual occupations are actually with the Strategic Fool-U Agency.

There's no doubt in my mind most of these higher profile ones at least get instructed on what they can reveal and when. These guys only know a little more than the best of us who get fed one chain down (mostly from these characters). Fool-U agency is done in the manner of an outdoor hotpot stall/hole in the wall with too many beers - really lacking in talent and insight. But it works well enough because the ones pulling the train forward are the actually talented engineers supplying the technology these hoodlums discuss and the strategic direction taken by Chinese leadership.

Listened to too many of these guys during Covid period and heard far too much dirty profanity. Apologies for my low opinion of some of these characters (but high opinion of the nuggets of gold they sometimes spill). Chinese profanity can be... unpleasant.

I second that! Would love to watch the video. Also on a side note there is a Chinese flanker documentary I am trying to find and have looked all over the usual defense boards but to no avail. Anyone know the one I am talking about? Was fairly recent. Sorry in advance to the mods as I know they universally hate gibs posts.
Is this a Chinese language one???

Tried to find this doc as it sounds promising I think I might have found a Chinese media site which has it. One last post on this documentary if that is alright. It actually went back to Soviet fighters in China. The mig-19 in particular is pointed out as one of the rare moments in their opinion where western fighters met their match in that specific generation. Then they went on to the Chinese flanker variants. It was a really interesting documentary as it wasn't full on praise of the flanker. They actually went into a small bit of aerodynamic detail as to why they felt the flanker had serious shortcomings that I had not heard of before. Particularly as it pertains to the trailing edge of the flankers wings. Any of you guys remember a documentary like this? Thanks again very much.

Are you sure that’s not about T-10 prototype, which had its trailing edge altered as it transformed into Su-27?
