First test flight for hydrogen turboprops went smoothly.

. The 7.5-tonne uncrewed aircraft is powered by the world’s most powerful hydrogen turboprop of its kind, capable of generating more than 1 megawatt. The engine operated normally and remained in good condition throughout the 16-minute test flight on Saturday, state news agency Xinhua reported, citing the Aero Engine Corporation of China (AECC), its developer. The aircraft covered 36km (22 miles) at a speed of 220km/h (137mph), flying at an altitude of 300 metres (985 feet). After completing all scheduled manoeuvres, it returned to an airport in Zhuzhou in central Hunan province, according to the report.

@老王RR涡扇花动机 is vaguely hinting that the C919 won't fly with CJ-1000A for "a while", possibly not for a few more years.

this post is slightly misleading. let me clarify.

Soyo talking about CJ-1000 first flight with C919 is approaching. which i have heard as well.

老王RR涡扇花动机 talking about commercial service and he never said, few more years. if you read his old comments. he always given 2027-28 date. and he is absolutely correct about ''Engine is far from usable'' . you still need whole bunch of certificates for commercial service.

well it depend on the certifications pace but most likely 2-3 years away from commercialization and production.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
the timeline matches with AECC report presented in two session of 14th national people congress last month.

Yang said the Aero Engine Corporation of China had finalised the CJ-1000’s design and was working on airworthiness approval. Certification may not be far off, and in the next two or three years, the engine is expected to power a Comac plane in its operational debut, he said.

These goals form part of the latest national plan, which is set to be approved by the top legislature this week and will guide socio-economic development in the 2026 to 2030 period. The certification and use of a high-bypass turbofan engine, CJ-1000 will also be accelerated, the plan noted.
