The Chinese Calendar is a LunarSolar (moon/sun) calendar, hence Chinese New Years fall in Feb 17th, 2026, which is spring, spring festival.
Islamic Lunar Calendar is for the Islamic Civilization, whereas the Chinese LunarSolar Calendar is for the Chinese Civilization, which Tet/Seollal is derived from.
Personally, in the United States, I say CNY to my Chinese friend and family, and LNY to my Viet/Korean friends, because pan-Asian unity in US is the default. To white people, I say CNY.
