You know all this bravado against China is for show, the real target is Sabah cause the Philippine claim had historically and legally more valid than those islet in the SCS. Plus Marcos and his cohorts knew that PRC won't resort to kinetic forces unless the AFP is foolish enough to initiated an armed conflict. Most of the Sabah population are Tausug and have a close ties with their kinship in SULU, the Malaysian are doing a proxy war by financing the Muslim insurrection like the MILF and the terrorist group ABU SAYAF to destabilized the region, so expect a major escalation in the South, and if Marcos do succeeded in impeaching the VP, Mindanao and Visayas may secede as there are no love lost between them with Luzon and Imperial Manila.

This should be the proper course China should take on SCS. Every time Philippine starts an instigation, breaks one of the rules/red-line, then China should start reclaim, build and reinforce a shore/island. There is no need to start any hold/cold war on recognized Philippines territories as some suggested on this thread. Philippine leaders like to yap to get a pat on the head from Washington, works with western medias to smear china, and get meme likes on X.com, but at the end of the day, China gets an island (even if it doesn't provide more military advantages)
XJP Thought, why lower yourself and act like a fool and uncultured? The Philippine action are mere words and if China takes the bait how much soft power it might lost, after projecting themselves as champion of the global south. From my previous post long ago, China don't aspire to be like the US, never been and never will. The reason why they refused Obama offer of G2, the current geopolitical situation favor a benign approach, being different is a plus cause if China do follow the US, the world will be in a lot of hurt, instead of one bully the global south will face two.
