You notice none in the West that said China's economy was collapsing therefore China would then spark some international conflict to distract from its economic woes to its people are saying anything...?

The law averages are in play here. The more the US controls, the more it costs them. The only way the US can pay for it is by taking it away from someone else. You think the US will be able to keep all the people content when resources are finite? You see it in the US and you’ll see in all the countries the US invades and takes control.

You know what would’ve made the Venezuela situation blowback on Trump? American casualties. Not one US soldier was killed in the arrest of Nicolas Maduro. It’s true today… right now… the US is not able to take many casualties. When that happens, people will turn especially when it's not about defense.

They say China was caught off-guard during Trump’s first term when he started his trade war. That if Trump had implemented his “Liberation Day” tariffs back during his first term, China wouldn’t have been able to handle them like they’re doing now because Trump didn’t go all-in back then so China was able to prepare for it in his second term. If true, that’s sad for me to hear because that just tells me Beijing lived in LaLa land. It’s like dumb Asians who think they’re the exception for some reason that racism wouldn’t happen to them like it would for other Asians. It’s denial because they don’t want to believe it’s all about their race because then that would mean there was no chance they would like you. What would make the Chinese think the US would never do it?

That’s why countries around the world should not be second guessing if they should inflict as many US casualties as possible because that might make Americans angry and more mad. That’s the only thing that makes Americans think twice. I just saw a response to the report that the US would lose in war with China because China can swarm anti-ship missiles on US Navy ships saying that the US should use nukes if China does. We haven’t heard that threat before to anything that says the US will suffer a lot… That’s an acknowledgement that Americans are afraid of that and everyone should go for it.

The US sold weapons to Taiwan... China should sell weapons to any Western enemy who wants them. It's only fair. China's Lingkong Tianxing says its YKJ-1000 hypersonic missile can be made in any ordinary factory with materials it already has on hand. If true China should think about spreading it around because the only way to get Americans to think twice is if they suffer casualties and if you want the West to stay at home, because you know Europe is thinking of doing what the US is doing in South America to Africa and they definitely need to take from others what they don't have at home, the homeland has to be under threat that it can happen for them to think twice. It's a joke because if China did what the US is doing to Venezuela, the Western world would up in arms calling China a threat in trying to take over the world. The US has allies with militaries in Asia to counter China. That's probably why the Republicans think they can talk spheres of influence because China will not have a easier time like the US in Latin America. The US thinks it can sell weapons to China's enemies. China should sell weapons to the West's enemies all around the world.

Whereas China can only issue strongly worded statements or conduct "naval exercises" in face of enemy countries, even neighbouring ones, that provoke it at every opportunity.

All these talks about "globalized economic order" and "measured approach" are absolutely useless. Where are the sanctions against US? Boycotts? Who's confiscating US assets?

China will continue "bidding its time" for another decade plus while watching S.Korea and Japan re-arm and further encircle its island chains. In contrast, America will take down Cuba, Greenland, and secure the entirety of the North and South Americas.

If China had the guts, they would reply back saying Asia is their hemisphere and US should stay out.

US is declining in raw power but have more willingness to use it. So, they are winning more and more while all the countries that were resisting US such Iran, Russia and Venezuela are all slowly losing due to lack of power. Even Russia is heavily degraded in terms raw national power due to the Ukraine war.

Power is not just about having the ability. It is also the will and guts to use that power, knowing there could be consequences and failures. And China in generals lacks the guts to use its power.

We saw some positive development last year with China firing the rare earth gun. They had that capability years ago but did not use it. This shows that having ability is not enough to be powerful. You also must have the will to use it.

The key to using power is not guts, it's wisdom.

It's cool in the Tom Clancy sense, surgical precision bunker busters here, Delta team surgical kidnapping there, Delta team assassination of Osama here. But the Iran nuclear reactions still exists, Venezuela regime still exists, and terrorists still flourishing.

So I agree it's pretty epic, but without boots on the ground, what exactly is achieved that is durable and practically speaking? It's shallow showmanship, and US has been burned with nation-building in past.

China gained real territorial gains against India and it was super low key, if you have dramatic showmanship, we already passed the WW3 scenario if Chinese goes flashy. The Chinese way is low key and effective, not flashy and drama like US/West.

Venezuela and Iran are not allies in traditional sense like North Korea, so why do you hold unrealistic expectations. China isn't going to sanction US over this.... just like US isn't going to sanction China over taking 2000 sq km of Indian territory in Galwan. Yet India is part of QUAD? Where is your outrage over US weakness over QUAD?

I do agree China increase defense spending and accelerate Chinese military buildup to counter re-arming of Japan.

I don't understand this fear mongering about US controlling Western hemisphere. Without US boots on the ground and proper regime change in Venezuela and Iran, they aren't exerting true dominance. If they do put boots on the ground, it would be a costly blunder that would drain US for decades and would secure the next century for China.

Japanese nuclearization is not an existential issue for China. In fact, this can only help China in the long term: 1) it will make Japan more independent of the US, which increases the chance it becomes a neutral party, 2) it will make it easy to justify accelerating China's own nuclear build up, as the West now has lost its strongest argument against China's nuclear build-up, 3) it'll open the box to sharing nuclear weapons with US opponents.

Obviously, China should still flip a table over it and use it as leverage to 1) punish Japan where it benefits China, 2) excuse its own nuclear build-up above parity with the US, 3) proliferate nuclear weapons to US opponents like Iran and Cuba. Let the US panic & sweat over the proliferation of nuclear weapons around the world, as this can only make it harder for a global imperial power to exert its will via military means, which is what the US does, but not what China does.

The only exception here is if nuclear weapons somehow make it into the hands of Taiwan. THAT does require a military response.

Japanese nuclearization is absolutely the worst thing that can happen to China. It removes the military option of hitting Japanese mainland off the table. It makes it so the "Japanese issue" will never be solved.

I would consider it a bigger failure of the CCP than Taiwan successfully declaring independence.

Losing Venezuela is an inconvenience, I’ll admit, but at the same time, it’s fairly meaningless to China.

At this point, China wants to move forward with nearly total self-reliance and independence. They want to make what they need on their own, and if they can’t, cut it out entirely and replace it with something they can. Relying on other countries for imports and exports at this point is merely a bonus, not a necessity. China is now advanced, independent and powerful enough to literally be its own trading partner, customer, and supplier.

And at the end of the day, if China truly needs these countries on its side, it can quite literally sit all this nonsense out while it patiently builds up its military and force-projection capabilities to the point of ridiculous proportions, and simply head out and flip the tables on the US by regime-changing and threatening all the weak, spineless countries that submitted to the US back towards their side.

That’s the thing about countries with no backbone, competence or integrity. You can turn them any direction you want. You just need to scare them enough. I understand that peaceful cooperation is the preferred method, but with countries like this, only power and intimidation does the job.

Today, the US made them cower in fear and turn to their side. Tomorrow, if necessary, China will be the one to make them cower and turn to its side. If all those pathetic leaderships folded under such little pressure, China will be able to make them fold the same way if need be. The key, however, is force projection. You have to be able to get to them first if you want to frighten them into submission.

He is 86. Iran International is not credible (it is a Saudi-sponsored propaganda network).

Anyone familiar with Iran, even his opponents, would find the idea he would leave to live in comfort like Assad laughable.

Even those who hate him describe him as an extremist or a lover of the Arabs etc., not a coward or a crook.
