its not a copy but a different design with more thrust and FADEC.

JL-XX have new Engines as per the rumors.
Do we have some publications for WS-17? I've been trying to find some, but it seems to be almost nothing recently but if the 5tf target is real than JL-XX is going to be a very capable trainer and light fighter. It'll have slightly more thrust than the latest Gripen-E!

Looks like a JL-10 to me.
It JL-15 and has modifications for training flights over the coatal sea shores of Dhubai. Due to training requirements over the marine areas it has enhanced characteristics to operate above the sea. L-15 is a modified type of JL-10. Still it is a trainer. Not the LIFT model.

Pardon, but your post sounds as if you are confusing a lot: JL-15 (so far not an official desugnation), L-15 & JL-10 are externally the same Aircraft, one for export, the other for the PLAAF … and Care to explain how they should differ „Due to training requirements over the marine areas it has enhanced characteristics to operate above the sea“ since per my understanding they differ at least airframe-wise in nothing?!
